Is it possible to quit smoking through natural methods, I
mean without using those nicotine patch or medications. I don’t have much faith
in medications.

running".

Unfortunately, loads of Primary Care Trusts and charities are still promoting it: try typing in "Smoke Free Justgiving" into Google and you'll see what I mean.

Ref: http://justgiving.wordpress.com/2006/11/20/justgiving-and-nhs-embark-on-quit-smoking-drive/
SmokeFree

I am going to support the smoke free fundraisin.xxx

Top tips for giving up smoking

The Department of Health knows a bit about giving up smoking, so we thought we'd post its top tips to help you quit:

Visit www.givingupsmoking.co.uk for more advice, or phone the NHS Smoking Helpline on 0800 169 0169, or visit your local NHS Stop Smoking Service.

Make plans for coping with stressful situations

Think positively – YOU can do it! Concentrate on the benefits

Take it one day at a time. Congratulate yourself each day

Ask a friend to stop too and give each other support

Use Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) or bupropion (Zyban) to help
you manage the cravings – your GP will be able to give you advice about
NRT and Zyban

At first, avoid events where you may be tempted to smoke

Keep busy and get a bit more active

Count the money you save – spend it on yourself!

Don’t try ‘just one’ cigarette – it always makes you start again

What are your top tips for giving up? I started this to take my mind of it. When a new day came i was feeling better and better & now im addicted to running lol. I have twin boys under 2 so i think thats what keeps me going is knowing that keeping fit is essential too how long im going to be around for.

When i started to give up my local shop said if i could cut it out completely then they would sponsor my first run for £200.

I was on 60 a day and to be honest i think she only said that much becuase she never thought i could do it lol.

I got there and every now and then i still think i could really do with a fag now. But i stuck to it.

Good luck to anyone who is trying.
