treking the himalayas in 2010

hi there im doing the girls get tough hike the himalayas in april now that the weathers turned bad iv had to head in side to the gym but this summer wasnt that great and iv strugled to get out and get some decent walking, plus were i live is very flat could anyone give me some advise for indoors or good long walks to do in the oxford area, im hopfully headng up to scotland to get some in when i go and visit the family.

is there any one else doing this trek??

90 Miles In 4 Days

I'm taking part in a sponsored walk covering 90 Miles In 4 Days starting on 1st April 2010 (honestly - not a joke!) and finishing on 4th April, which is Easter Sunday to raise money for Cancer Research UK and I'd really appreciate your support.

The walk will be along the complete length of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal starting at Great Haywood in Staffordshire and joining the river Severn then finishing in Gloucester Docks!

I feel Cancer Reasearch UK will be the best charity to support as it covers all areas of this horrible disease and they need as much support as they can get.

Hey all, less than 12 months to go now so thought i'd start this up so we can all get to know each other a bit before we go. Me.... i have the fantastic job of working for Marie Curie as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the West Midlands. I have somewhat of an exercise phobia but really looking forward to the trek. Done the Inca Trail a few years ago for another large charity and met some fantastic people so hoping for a similar experience on this trek.

I am em´bark´ing on a 250k charity dog sled across Norway/Sweden and Lapland to raise vital funds for the MRF (Meningitis and Septicaemia).
If anyone is going or has already completed this challenge and has any tips, please let me know.

Remember, it´s all about the Dogs. (My Dogs Georgeous and Sophie are very jealous).

We would like to know if you are interested on booking the Inca trail, we are a little concerned because the are just a few rooms for August 22th onwards, unfortunately before NO MORE SPACES It is suggest able for you to start booking as soon as possible,

The only inconvenience for passengers and -travel agencies too-; is that government of Cuzco only allows 500 people per day, that is why reservations for this trek has to be taken with many months in advance. When rooms are sold out it is impossible to get one later..
