I am trying to raise £1600 for my chosen charity british lung foundation. I am running the virgin london marathon 2010 in honour of my nana who died at the age of 77 from respiratory disease which is a condition in which the lungs suddenly become damaged one person in seven is affected by lung disease
please donate as much as you can the money you donate is going to a very good cause its the only charity in england to deal with lung disease and your money will be appreciated very much and will make a massive difference to people suffering with lung disease . and also into finding new ways to help prevent lung disease

Hey all just thought I would let you all know about the current christmas catalogue that we have now got Online. Working on behalf of the christian based charity: Send A Cow we have displayed an array of virtual gifts that will help change a poor farmer's life in the nine African countries that we are in. Climate change costs lives. And right now, thousands of people are taking action to fight its devastating effects on the world's poorest people. This October, we’re asking all our supporters to do one of three things: change what you wear, change what you do, or collect loose change.

All of the money raised through your change-themed fundraising efforts will be going to support our work with communities that are being affected by climate change. For example, if you can get 39 workmates to pay £2 to wear jeans to work, the money you’ll have raised could be used to enable a family to raise their home above flood levels.

Ideas for company's to donate raffle prizes in aid or race for life

Hi I Was wondering if anybodys got any ideas how i can get big companys to donate prizes for my raffle at work
someone who done a raffle at work in aid of the marthon got some good raffle prizes most of these were unwanted xmas presents though

if anybody got any ideas please let me know

Lots of my online friends have listed some charity auctions to help me raise funds for my 25 mile walk in the Yorkshire Dales this Saturday in aid of the NSPCC.

I registered a domain name to make it easier for my friends to pass the link round to the auctions, www.YDCauctions.co.uk

They will make payments at my JustGiving page at www.JustGiving.com/FCarr to boost my sponsorship.

It's a very simple idea and quite easy to get going so does'nt eat into your other fund raising or training time.

People from both sides of the Atlantic have listed auctions to help me, it's amazing how people are so keen to help.

There are over 200 auctions listed and I'm hoping that the final amount raised for my sponsorship will be over £400.

I'm very pleased as this is my first challenge walk and my first attempt at getting sponsorship.

I passed my £250 target within three weeks and have more than doubled it already, and that's not counting whatever the charity auctions make for me!

Give it a go folks, it's fun!

Hello everyone - Do hope all is well? Just thought I would come in and share some of our ideas.

Send a Cow are doing: 'Read to Feed-Give your class an appetite for reading' and this is a little a bit about it in six steps-
1. Children choose books to read from the sendacow children's site cowforce.com and then invite a 'Send a Cow Ambassador' to come and speak about the charity's work.
2. Children are given bookmarks to encourage a sponsorship and continue reading
3. Continued reading will earn the children stickers for their bookmarks to show progress. Teacher's can get materials from a site dedicated to them called cowfiles.com
4. Children collect their sponsorship money and match it to help what we give in africa using sendacowgifts.org.uk
5. Children send the money in and they will receive a thank you certificate and we send you one too.
6. The money gets to work straight away to help families grow enough to eat, have an income and protect their environment.

*Just one book can start a whole chain of giving.... :) Hope you can spread the word on behalf of me to possibly your children's schools. What do you think about this new avenue we are taking to change a family's future?

Hi my sister is raising money for southampton dialysis unit for children with kidney disease,my nephew is 5 years old and has kidey faliure so goes to the ward 3 times a week. my sister is looking to do a fundraising event to raise money for the hospital and we are looking for ideas on how to get support and donations. Can anyone help.

Little Legs for Life

Hi there

Myself and some other local mums here in Hersham, Surrey, have created an event called "Little Legs for Life", in aid of Cancer Research UK. The event was inspired by the loss last year of a very good friend and popular local mum. The local children all wanted to help raise money - some girls did the local RFL last year, but the boys were left out! So, we decided to organise this walk/run just for the children - because kids care too!

We have over 180 children registered to take part!! The event will take place on Sunday 28th June at our local rugby ground, and we hope to raise at least £2000.

Hey every one:) , I'm doing the grand intentions for the national autistic society. My target is 1000 pounds.
I have already done some sponsored walks and a few more to come, bristol to bath cycle path in july - eek! . So far I have raised 270.50p but i am holding the main event, a family fun day sunday 16th august 09 in bristol (kingswood park, bs159tp). The event will include

* Music

*Tombola

*Raffle

*Auction

*Face Painting

*Guess My Birthday - guess the teddies birthday to win him at the end the day.

*Name the bear

*Pirate Lucky dip

* Target Frisbee

*How many sweets in a jar

*Beat the Goalie - shoot out game

*Bouncy castle ('till 3pm)

* Knock the can (tin can alley)

* Ball in a cup

* Catch a fish ( variation on hook a duck)

* Map spaces treasure island

* Creativity area

* and creativity competition - prize for best ones

*Talent competition

*Information Stalls - NAS, autism info, autism services, etc

* Snacks and refreshments - Ice cream van, burger van, candy floss van and cake stall

*Meet your favorite characters - including snow white and the fat controller.

*Visit from a local fire engine (TBC)

*Demos and performances by local groups.

*Stalls - local produce and services.

*Kiddy rides - including swing boats and chair-o-planes

*Table top sale - every item 1 pound

*and more...

If any one is in the bristol area or near by the day then please come along and show your support.

Curry Night - Help??

Hi All

I am hoping to set up a curry night in the new year to raise funds for my bike ride next year.

So - i need to find a local curry house and get them to agree to a set price of which i sell tickets to friends and family adding £5 on top!? Am i thinking on the right tracks?

This set price doesnt include drinks does it? As for my friedns this would push the cost of the ticket well up into the hundreds!!!

On the night you then add in raffles etc to raise even more cash?

Sorry for the simple questions just wasnt sure if i was on the right tracks.

Have you any other little tips for raising extra funds on the night? Has anyone ever done an extra charge per drink ordered to go into the drink pot or maybe a swear jar over the evening? I am sure this might get a little extra cash.

Hopefully i can find a local place willing to hold this event - is it common they agree to it?

Over £2000 in one night

I arranged to book a local restaurant for the night. A menu was agreed at a price of £25 per head and I sold tickets to the event for £30. The maximum seating was 55 and I got friends and family to take a table each - this raised £275 from the 'bums on seats' alone.

I asked local businesses and everyone I know for raffle and auction prizes. Envelopes were given to everyone for them to place their raffle money in - this raised £800 and the auction raised £1000. I was very lucky as a friend got tickets for Wimbledon for me and we had dinner for two at a London restaurant too but you could ask local restaurants/pubs to offer dinner prizes. Hairdressers/beauty salons to donate vouchers. Shops to donate vouchers.

Try everything!!

My local pub is running a quiz night for me this week too where we are charging £1 a head to join the quiz and will hold a raffle too. I will also make sure that I have plenty of collecting tins around

It is such a relief to have successfully raised my target amount so now I don't have to worry about that just about running the 26 miles!!!!

More Poetry Contributions Required?

Hi All, I started a poetry website in 2007 www.mypoetry4u.co.uk dedicated to raising funds for Uk Charities, unfortunately it seems not many people are forthcoming in offering poetry to the website to help raise funds.
Can anyone come up with any suggestions on how to get more people to contribute more poetry?

For every shopping transaction made via this site you get money added onto you easy fundraising account, then recieve a cheque every 3 months... so far I rasied £130!

Click the link above then register your own cause... use the easysearch as well everytime you do a search instead of google and raise extra that way too... £27 raised from searches so far alone

I just completed Cycle Cuba 2008, and am going to sign up for another ride soon... good luck with all your events
