[:D ]Dear All
I am in training for my second marathon at the grand age of 56! I started as a complete beginner in July 2006 and joined a brilliant running club (Edmonton!) - group of really helpful and supportive, experienced runners. They helped me every step of the way to prepare for the 2007 London - completed in 6hrs 15m on a really hot day. My aim is under 6 hrs this year - all things being equal!!
My charity is NCH and I'm really excited, even tho time is proving to be really tight as I've just started a new job and my hands are really full at present. I'm hoping to raise funds from a non-uniform day at my school; a quiz evening; an Easter bunny raffle and sponsorship from my church. I just wonder if there are any tips, guidance, willingness to team up for fundraising etc. I would be eternally, everlastingly grateful.
Thanks for responding and I really look forward to dialoguing with you on any issue.

Hello Veteran Lady!
You seem to have plenty good ideas there regarding how to raise money. The only other things I've tried doing are having a cake sale at work and getting empty tubes of smarties and filling them with 20p pieces. Each tube will quite easily take £10 so you could hand out a dozen of these to friends and ask them to fill them - pretty soon you've got £120 with very little effort!
Anyway, best of luck with everything and I hope your run goes well.
Fiona
