Hey Angie ... I so understand why you are moving, so tempted to myself to be honest! As you said to me though you wont need to worry so much about the fundraising as the target is lower! Oh look what you have started now... lol ![Huh? [:^)]](/emoticons/emotion-18.gif)
Keep in touch whatever happens...

hey julz
dont be silly you are almost at target and you have you cuban night which will see you through!!
My reasons to change over ar not just about raising the money, i havnt done nearly enough cycling and want to do it properly not half heartedly, this year has been bad for me, but now things are changing for the better i can focus on my cycling!!

I am still £1100 off target... and the airport taxes will cripple me! I may have to move this side of Christmas too which would mean I need every spare penny I can get my hands on for furniture as a lot of the things in this house are the landlords. I have managaed to replace things a bit at a time over the 3 years I have been here, but will need carpets, curtains and beds for my girls for starters. Things have been pretty difficult here too in one way or another... ho hum! Have you made it official yet?? I notice Fern is doing Jordan too... what a woman! ![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif)

Sarah, your garden is beautiful, and so practical for a garden party. all you need is to get the invites out and the cakes in....
Nicky, right, have thinking cap on will come up with lots of ideas, I'm sure going to bore the pants off you all, you'll be telling me to shut up. And some of us are going to be staying at the youth hostel in Alveston just outside stratford, have a look at the link for 1st weekend of August, have put the phone number on there, and its only £23.00 at most per night. sorry can't remember specifics.
Have to agree with Julz, Fern is an amazing lady by the sounds of the things she does. But then you are all stars in my book.
Angie, the pictures of Jordan you found look amazing, you can't believe that wonderful places like that exist, sorry I won't be going with you.
And for the record, I hate hills!

Hi Girls,
Donna - you are an absolute gem!! Thank you for recommending the YH, I hadn't even thought of there! I've just spoken to them and I am now booked in, so Thank you!! I also remember a while ago you suggested a teddy bears picnic, but can't remember what to do!! sounds a great idea, though!
I can't wait to meet all you lovely ladies in September, although a bit scareds about how fit you are all going to be!!
Angie, it's a real shame that you won't be with us in Cuba but from the sounds of your posts, I think you have definately done the right thing! Aswell as doing this for charity, you are doing it for yourself so you owe it to yourself to feel ready and happy otherwise you won't enjoy it! good luck, and keep posting with us x
love Nicky xxx

Angie, sorry to hear you're not coming to Cuba, but glad to see you're being positive about Jordan by starting a new thread.
Went and saw the physio yesterday, she's given me some exercises to do and has said I should stop cycling for a while to try and let it heal. Nooooooooooooo, I can cycle up hills at the moment, I can't stop. She has booked me in for 3 sessions at the hospital. I'm very tempted to do a couple more sessions with the sports physio as well just to hurry it all along a bit. I may only be able to do the Saturday in Stratford, don't really want to push it too far. I will still stay the Sunday night as well. I can go visit family in Solihull on the Sunday. I'm happy to get to the yh at 6pm on the Friday, I think Mavis said to get to her house for 7pm. I'm really looking forward to seeing you all again, I think I'm starting to get cycle buddy withdrawal symptoms.
Sam, I did like the letter of complaint, did a copy of it and took it to work, being as most of them are women, they loved it.
Take care everyone

Ohh Sarah, stop cycling for a bit.... Do strength exercises instead, you don't want to knacker it up for when we get to Cuba, go slow.
Just to give you all a giggle, I thought I'd try something a little different tonight, went out on the bike, and didn't know the road but thought what the hell, never been down here but see where it goes!!!! Never again.... Along a very unused track I came across a huge puddle, thought for a split second, round or through, so went through the bike came to a complete stop, my foot went in and Yukkk. 12inches of scwelchy mud.Yukk, Yukk, tried to hop through but no the other foot had to go in and Yukkk 12inches of scwelchy mud. I looked a bit rough when got home, the bike has been thoroughly hosed down, looks like new.
I've been looking through different peoples postings and one lady asked her local fire brigade to do car cleaning, could anyone manage to get local hunky firemen cleaning cars..... I'm sure it would be worth the effort....
Nicky, Teddy bears picnic, try for a local country park, take some photo's of things people might see when they walk round, suggest a round route and give out tick lists with photo's for the kids to spot things. Rounders bat and ball. A picnic and a teddy. Meet, play family game of rounders have picnic. Charge £5.00? a family no outlay for you all you have to do is organise and enjoy. Would be a good one for a weekend thing for families to do.
Sarah, think Deena and I will arrive about 5.30 ish to get unpacked. Has anyone heard from Suzi?

Angie
May i also send my sympathies for you not able to do cuba and sorry not going to have the pleasure of meeting you.
Did manage a further cycle on weds so clocked a total of 48 miles that day and yesterday did 21 after work.
Spoke to local paper about advertising car boot next week which they are and guess what they want to do a piece. Going to use that as an incentive for something else i had thought of a few weeks ago.
A couple came through my care in labour and they are opening a restaurant with entertainment end of aug. Prio to opening night they are holding 2 complimentary nights to test the menu and entertainment i casually mentioned to the guy the following day what a good opportunity to use as a charitable event no extra outlay for him jsut charge the customers five pounds towards charity. I have now written a letter to him in the hope that he will go through with this idea as i can mention it in my article and get hime free publicity which of couse i have mentioned in the letter so this may sway him to definately doing it. Keep your fingers crossed. I seems i am having a final burst of inspiration for fund raising.
Off to clean house though not dirty as not been in really but mum home from Mexico tomorrow so have to make an effort
Speak soon
Amanda
