Jools thats BRILLIANT................................I love it, and that way we don't need to pack them, only thing is I know need to go back to the shops are the balloons near the toiletries as I don't think I am strong enough to walk passed. Also we should write our names on the balloons before blowing them up, that would be fun!!!!!!!!!
Just had huge sunday dinner, feeling like a turkey at christmas . I think I will need bigger shorts to start with and work my way into my smaller one I have eaten so much this week.
Speak to you soon

Hi all.
Just been reading through all your posts, made me feel very emotional and weepy! Did a really stupid thing last night, went out and had too much to drink, fell over and grazed my knee and bruised my leg, what an idiot!
Panic is setting in, my 5 year old is beginning to waver which isn't helping. Have bought him a transformer to give as I leave so should put his mind off me going away!
Am also eating FAR too much, have definitely put on weight! Hopefully we'll work off a few pounds next week. 4 more sleeps!!!!
Night. Sarah x

Morning Ladies,
I have just been reading through the wekends posts to catch up, all these ailments are making me nervous, I am just hoping that my op was bad luck enough, feeling like staying in bed wrapped up in cotton wool, but then knowing my luck I would develope a severe bed sore, or an allergy to cotton wool!!!
My wonderfull hubby came with me on my weekend cycling in Leicester and we met up with Donna who has done the India trip and now preparing for Cuba, she must be mad, but such a lovely lady and great company. The 3 of us manage 45 miles but like you we had some stong winds. The big shock though was whoever told me east of Leicester was flat WAS LYING!!! O M G we did some biggies, but survived to tell the tale and had some fun along the way. Sunday my poor butt sore and weary hubby bravely persuaded me to do the 2nd ride but as I had prepared a selection he opted for the shortest. The begining however was very hilly but luckily most of it was on the flat but the winds were wicked, I was actually changing down gears coming down hill at 1 point, and cycling on beautiful flat roads in low hill gears. We had the wind behind us for the last bit and ended on a high with a sprinting finish! the best bit came sitting in the car (which I had backed up and facing the road) changing out of our sweaty clothes for the drive home. I put the demister on as I commented it would look suspisious when 2 women drove past and gave us very strange looks, it just happened to be the moment we were pulling on our jumpers! The next going the other way was just as funny as we were both arched up zipping up our jeans!!!! I feel fine today though I am aware I have worked hard, hoiwever poor Keith is really suffering bless him. After 75 miles in 2 days I can tell you if I had been out there on my own I would never have managed it and at times would probabaly have been blubbing into my buff, but having company gave each of us the strength to keep going and have fun.
I am now convinced we will be fine in India, especially when Donna said there are women who turn up thinking 'yes I can ride a bike' but do no training at all!!!! As I now know from experience of the last couple of months, the hard work has been done and has not gone too far away for those of you who have been ill, and I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised in India. Come on girls we have come this far, we are in it together and we will pull each other through it, as I said before even if we have to get out the tow ropes!
As for airport recognition, my hubby came up with the idea they do with the kids clubs on holidays, our names in big black letters on our t shirts ( there is plenty of room on the back just above the 'cycle India'), along with pink neck scarves how can we fail to find each other!

Hi All,
Well done Sian, bet you're really chuffed that you did the weekend. Have to say I'm glad I didn't .Yesterday started to feel really rough, sore throat, chesty cough and a headache, this morning aching a shivery, bloody hell..... NOT this week please.
Husband off work with the same, God knows how many germs are flying round this house.
Did you all get a letter today re. change of hotel stays. My guide book says the first one is great, but then it really goes down hill, will leave you all to check them out on the web.
As for meeting at the airport;
I know Sian< jools and Nicky and Viv, though havent seen her without hair!
Sian knows Sue, Charlotte etc.. Im sure we can work it out, altough if I find a pink balloon before Thurs I shall buy one.
Amanda xx
Good luck to everyone in their challanges. Love Amanda

Well - another visit to Asda and bought some cheap T shirts - I am going to get my kids to decorate a few of them so I can wear them when I cycle!
I got the letter about the change in hotels, but try as I might, google, yahoo etc don't seem to be able to bring up the Maharaja Palace Hotel in Delhi!!!!
I hope it's not grotty as I think we deserve a decent hotel after the ride LOL!!! I mean - how many showers are we going to need?
I have some pink balloons at home so will bring a few with me!!!! May also need to decorate gala dinner tables!!!!!
Off now to try and pack all my stuff into a suitcase/holdall/whatever I can find in the loft!

Hi all!
Am not worrying too much about the hotels after the ride 'cos, the way I see it, after 5 days camping "en-suite" we'll really appreciate anything with a shower!
Was going to be really organised yesterday and pack my bag BUT had to deliver 3 lots of birthday cards/pressies to our respective parents (Help the Aged run!) and by the time we got back and I'd sorted out the school uniforms etc I couldn't be bothered so what should have been packed is now all over the bedroom floor! Still, I've got 3 days to do it .... oh bugger! ![Crying [:'(]](/emoticons/emotion-9.gif)
Roll on the sunshine!
Viv
p.s. hair has grown a little bit

Good afternnoon ladies. Everyone I have met today has asked about India my stomach is doing cartwheels all the time and I am become slightly hysterical. Couldn't sleep last night, had my first dream about being lost on my bike in a desert ( and India doesn't have them).
Been back to decathlon today and spent more money but Iam done know, I have everything I need and if not that just tough someone will have it iam sure.
Sian I was looking for Assos cream and couldn't find it is that the one you said we could share I can't remember. I think I have left it to late to order from the internet, if not I will sought something out. I have some proplaris cream which is a natural antibiotic and is good for everthing.
Speak soon
3 more sleeps OMG ![Travel [ap]](/emoticons/emotion-58.gif)

Just wanted to say GOOD LUCK ladies for Thursday. I so wish I was coming with you!
My tip would be to drink plenty of water during the ride itself and I also found it useful to put one of my buff scarves on my head under my helmet, just to keep the sun off.
Apart from that, no further advise other than go and have a fantastic time, do your best and don't worry anout the hotels! Believe me when you get to that hotel in Jaipur after the ride it won't matter what the hotels like so long as its got running water and a flushing loo! I had a shower followed straight away by a bath!!! Bliss! Having said that I loved the camping and being mucky, not worrying about hair etc etc!!!! Thats coming from someone who has never camped before or had any desire to!
BON VOYAGE, Have lots of laughs! And report back on your return. Will be thinking of you xxxxx

So after the ride we get to have a bath !! well definatley taking some lovely bubble bath & will save one of those little bottles of wine that have found there way into my case.. Popped into M&S today and they have small bottles of Champers as well, so might have to buy one of those as well...
Know what you mean Su, I just want to get to the airport now and get on that plane !!! Talked to Amanda today and agreed to eat before we get to airport, as eating a curry on the plane at 11.00 pm is not appealing.
So I will have a pink ballon with me, will also have "jools" on my t-shirt and a great big excited smile on my face !!!
See you in all in 72 hours and counting..
Jools

Hi girls
I am 1 of 3 coming to join you on Thursday, from Northern Ireland! I only found this site about a week ago and have been reading all your blogs with great excitement!! I had no intention of joining in but here I am at the very last minute!! Just my style!
I signed up in February 07 to prove that I can be fit for 50 - which means I have 6 months left, India will certainly be a challenge.
I was SO excited at the thought of it and raved SO much about Cycle India that Amanda, who works in the next office decided to sign up too! (She is about half my age!)
We have fund raised together - think that has been much easier than going it alone, as we have kept each other motivated. We have trained on the road a bit together but go to spin classes in different gyms.
We are working till Wednesday - well we are AT WORK till Wednesday, gives us a chance to be excited all day, planning, panicking, laughing hysterically - think it's nervous laughter!! The others are really going to miss us when we go, peace will reign.
Can't wait to meet you MAD 4 or 5 who have kept me very entertained in recent days. I was thinking you must spend all your time on the computer then tonight I have just put my 15 year old off so that I can see what the craic is - as they say in Ireland! I've got to be just as bad!!
Will be looking out for you and your pink balloons on Thursday
Cheers Heather

Hi girls
Feeling really nervous now. I have to admit that my independant streak has been a very good front for all these years. I can't admit it to my teenagers but OMG am i nervous. Woke up at ten to two thinking i had a great nights sleep then lay awake all night. A friend gave me a massage last night which should have helped and obviously did until ten to two !!
I know once i have met you all and on the plane it will be great.
See you in two days.
Nicky x

I have not had a good sleep for nights now. I'm off to Liverpool today with my dughter who has an interview at LIPA, I drop her off at 9 and pick her up at 4, oh well suppose I will just have to go shopping! Have decided 4 buffs are not enough so I have decided to buy a pink one to wear to the airport. Quick one that sprung to mind yesturday was what else we could put on our t shirts, as Sir Robert Winston is head of the trust of W4W, what about Bobby's Girls???!!!
Must go, started malarials yesturday and fine so far!

Oh Sian - that is brilliant!!! Bobby's Girls! Wonder if he himself will turn up to se us off? It would be nice to meet him at long last!!
Starting the packing now - lost my lists A4C sent us - lost all my W4W info too - what am I like - probably threw them out in the rubbish knowing me.
Starting to panic and get excited all at once now - OMG what are we doing??? Are we mad? - OK don't answer that one!
I had a very weird dream last night . We were on a 747 and it was very posh inside - leather seats, cream carpets and beautiful toilets - do you think my brain is playing tricks with me? After all, we are in cattle class!
