Dear all
WOW long time no write! I am so sorry for just disappearing After my hydro active challenge last year I spent another month or so in hospital before being discharged. I continued to worsen however and by Christmas could hardly breathe let alone enjoy christmas dinner or open my presents.
The fantastic news is that at the beginning of this year, after 22 months of waiting, I got my call for transplant!!
The road to recovery was incredibly slow and complex as I was so desperately ill by the time I got the op, and I spent 8 weeks in Intensive care and 2 months being weaned off the ventilator. I was discharged in March and haven't looked back since ![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif)
On Sunday I am doing the Hydro Active challenge - whereas last year I managed 500 metres on foot this year I want to walk the WHOLE DAMN THING!
Am very excited if a little nervous!
If anyone else is at the hydro, (Hyde Park) look out for me in the big pink fairy dress
Smiles to all and keep up the fab work!
Em x
My life was saved by someone carrying a donorcard.
8 months and counting with new lungs....
