I was running around 20 miles a week and not losing weight although my shape changed slightly. As soon as I entered a Marathon and started training for it reaching 55 miles per week, my shape changed more rapidly and eventually after 3 months weight started to drop off. The best bit of advice to help you control your weight if you are running is to keep a food diary otherwise there is danger that the calorie defecit from running causes you to eat like a pig and if you're not careful you can eat more calories than you consume.
I only visit my factory about 6 times a year. By losing weight some of the people who had not seen me for say 4 months started to discuss my huge weight loss and this helped broadcast my Marathon attempt.
By far the most amount of money was raised from Colleagues including the Sales Director and Finance directors who both chipped in £100 each.
Hi there,
Your message was posted some time ago - did you run the marathon in the end? Was your weight loss successful?? I ask because I am currently considering emarking on such a challenge but am extremely unfit and thought that if it were for charity then it might actually make me do it. If you don't mind, do you have any tips?Did you already have a fairly good fitness level when you started your challenge? I am looking to lose somewhere in the region of 15-20 kilos....
Would appreciate any feedback if you are still around. Or if anyone else has any suggestions - please write a comment!
Hi Becky:Just read your posting,i am embarking on a 31 mile walk(see my worcestershre way)on june 9th,was roped into it from work boss, there are 6 of us from work doing it as a team challenge,i am unfit, overweight and apprehensive.
I have just bought off ebay an airwalker, which is great, trying to do some every day, also trying to lose excess 3 stone i am carrying, hope to lose at least 1 stone before the walk.
i lost 5 stone four years ago,but i had gall stones, weight has crept back on though, low fat is best way, keep below 0.4 gramms fat, drop sugar, decaf drinks are good, plenty of water etc.good luck claire
