You all enjoy every minute os IOW ride and how I wish I could e there but just too far. I am seriously panicking when I read what fit dudes you lot are!! I live in the Highlands of Scvotland and I am spending my cycles finding the flat bits not looking for hilly bits!! I promise I will try to increase inclines next time. There is a cycle path right to the top of Ben Nevis but no chance for me .
Keep up all your fitness levels and fundraising. Yoou are all inspirational.
Oh by the way I will bring printed sheets or a song when I meet you all in London before we fly to Cuba!! I have found us all a song to keep us going. So come on girls. Everyone find us a song and we can have a laugh at them all.
Catch you all soon

Aly, please dont be deceived into thinking that we are all fit. Speaking for myself, I have spent such an unproductive day that has ended with me hitting the chocolate. The diet went out of the window and I am seriously wishing it hadnt. The weather is diabolicle. My joints ache with the damp and Oh how I need a holiday. I think my mood is now dictated by having the opportunity to get on the bike and that seems to be dictated by the weather. Oh woh is me.
Ok, song you say. Does it have to be a known one or do you want us to become lyrical writers? Good challenge. X E

Hi Elaine, Cheers for the wee message. Glad someone else is like me!!

As for the song. No, not a known one. I think we should all write our own lyrics and bring them with us. It will be a great ice breaker and I think such a laugh.
Pick any tune at all and write a wee song just for us all. Say about 4 verses?? What do the rest of you think??

Hi Girls

Thought i would let you know i managed a further 21 miles yesterday afternoon so clocked 50 in total as u may remember sttep hill to Ians my thighs were burning but not going to give up. Staggered into housed and screamed a loud OUCH but daft as it might sound after shower and walk around to shop they felt ok. Nettle rash giving me most jip!!! Was dreading this morning but for some reason ok i am sure i will pay tomorrow but walking round ward for 12 hours today should keep them supple. Disadvantage of cycling so far though is i ate for England last night Would seriously doubt could manage the 100km on Sunday cos of the time factor as i am sure i wil need good breaks as yesterday i did in 2 slots with a decent break in middle and total cycling time was 5 hours 35 mins

got to go got a labourer coming in

speak soon

Amanda

hi ya

Well done Amanda .. I doubt very much that I'll manage the full 100 km either so as we start clockwise alongside the 55km circuit I reckon I will stick to that one myself.

Managed to get some people in the pub to sponsor me.. although they haven't given me the cash yet I have added them to the total to make me feel more positive as it puts me over the halfway mark now!

Got a handlebar bag today from Tesco for £18, thought it would be useful on sunday plus a pair of padded cycle shorts that were only £8 I think. Need to find my measure now so I can fit my odeometre as it's still sitting in the box! And make sure I have a full 2 litres of water chilling ready to fill up the camelbak.

Look forward to seeing those of you who are coming Sunday

What a bargain for the bag i have just paid £30 off the internet as i thought a handlebar bag would be better than my pannier set that goes on the back

I'm totally knackered. We didn't do the 100km in the end but the 55kms felt like a 100kms, if we'd done the longer route we would have been still cycling. It's soooooo hilly, but it was lovely meeting with everyone.
Sorry Julz that you didn't feel well, how are you now?

Well I was up for doing the full 100kms but my team took the wrong turn. (also didnt have lights on my bike)
In truth it was soooo hard that I think I have to put in a lotta more hours training.
Also, when any of you come to the new forest training it will be non masochistic.
Von and I did cycle home (My home not hers) which brought our total to 42 miles.
Lovely meeting you all. Hope to be fitter next time we meet. X Elaine and Von

Hi girls,

Just got in the door, Robs bringing the bike in and I'm pooped. But at least I'll be able to get up early in the morning to sort myself out for the Spring fair fund raising effort. Thanks for a great day and the stories about it on the ferry back. At least we got a badge! should have been a medal with those hills!

Hi Ladies,
Well done on your IoW cycle. I feel like a couch potato - despite good intentions, haven't been on my bike this weekend. Hope to do a short quick ride tomorrow.
