Hi everyone,
Welcome on board Sez, its nice to hear that the list is growing for people who have joined up!
My husband planned my whole weekend for me, I've got all my friends and everyone I know donating stuff for car boots, and because its been such horrid weather they have been cancelled alot, so our house looks like Paddys junk shop, not that I'm complaining, but they are threatening divorce, the hubby & the kids. So now I've finished all the car boots this weekend and the house is alot less full, and its a bit less that I've got to raise now. HURRAY!!!!!
Its nice to hear all the cycling disasters, I love the gooseberry bush one, thats the sort of thing that happens to me.
Haven't had time to look at the new forest yet, not sure how far that is from me, once a date has been decided we can see how many are on the link, we may have to book a hostel to ourselves for a weekend.
Speak to everyone soon
Love
Donna xx

Hi Sue,
Well I'm not as fit as I usually am, still recovering from an injury, so can't do as much as I would like to. but, yes I guess I would say that I'm quite fit.!! Angie and I have done fund raising for women for women before and cycled India in November last yr.
10 miles an hour is about right, you'll be suprised at how quickly the miles add up, and you get quicker when you go out regularly. The training advice they put together seems alot more organised than the one last year, a better format.
Speak soon

Hi everyone.
I've just been to the New Forest with my daughter which was lovely. We did 20miles which took about 3hrs but, we did get a bit confused with the map and had to ride across deep boggy grass. My legs were killing me. We also stopped for lunch (not counted in time) but did eat a big chip and egg baguette, not a good idea when riding the last 10 miles.
It's a good idea all meeting up in the New Forest, they do have some great rides.
Did you raise a lot of money with the car boot sale Sue, I've thought about doing it but haven't got much in my house, I work for a charity and most of it has gone to their shop.
Must go, large pile of ironing waiting for me, oh joy.
How do you get the little icons onto your messages, I tick them but nothing happens. I've tried dragging, double clicking, HELP. (I know, I'm so sad)
Take care
Sez x

Hi ladies,
Sue, raised about £150.00 this weekend, not as good as I hoped for but every little counts, boot just about anything, books, knick-knacks, old records. My mates, every one I know have been fab, I tell them that I do booting, and that if they have anything they are going to throw out to think of me. I've raised loads this yr doing them (despite the rotten weather)
Sarah E, didn't seem to be hardly any mosies about last yr, but I used the lotion from boots, it was dead gloopy and sticky. Only used it once. Just fell into bed the other nights mostly. Make sure that you have a neckerchief, because you can pull it round as well when the roads get to dusty. Tips! take lots of photos. There is this one huge hill, no MOUNTAIN! unless they change the route, its fab when you get to the top, but tips, practise hills, steep ones! One last tip from me enjoy it and keep a diary of your trip. Angie has probably got more practical advice than me.
Good luck for your ride, when do you go?

Hi everyone,
Can someone help me (again). I am trying to organise a raffle that will be drawn in August next year. I need a licence from the local county council, I have the forms but, i need to fill in the Name of society and address, name and address of chairperson, secretary and treasurer, does anyone know where i get this info from? The person I spoke to at Action for Charity wasn't able to help me.
When I did my cycle ride in the New Forest on Monday which was great, I swallowed a fly (only small) which made me cough, then I got a sore throat and now have a cold. Can you get a cold from a fly or am i just a tad unlucky. Also I have now raised £81 yippee i have started, only £2919 left to go.
Hope all is going well with everyone else.
Take care
Sez x

Hi all
Sez.. well done on the 20 miles... I stayed at Ashurst in the end for 2 nights and rode to Lyndhurst both days with my youngest in a trailer, so a little harder work than normal, but only did 12 miles over 2 days with her and my eldest riding her own bike. But we did cross a couple of fields which were pretty hardout! haha! Was a lovely couple of days though. I would love when the girls are at school to take my bike back over that way for a few good rides. I so love it there!
Found out there is a youth hostel in Burley if we did do a meet up in New Forest. £14 per night.
Was a cracking couple of days chilling out with my girls. Danielle was charging around on her bike now she has no stabilisers.. so cool! Not got enough nerve to allow her on the road with us yet though, so have to still pull her along behind me. Think I will get a tag along soon though as she will feel like she is doing something then too.
Hope you are all doing ok, and enjoying the last of the summer sun xxx

Well done with the car boot - It has given me the impetus to ask my friends at work if they have any car boot stuff for me, and they have promised to bring some in for me.....so that will be a start.
Sez, great to hear about your 20 mile cycle, but sorry to hear that you have swallowed a fly and are now feeling poorly, hope you feel better soon.
I went out for my first serious ride (in a long time) on Sunday, and it was not a pretty sight, I can tell you! Being fair though, I did pick the toughest, hilliest route around here. so although I only did 7.75 miles in the hour, I feel as though I had done 20......![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif)
One of my friends from work is coming out on my Saturday and Sunday ride, so that will help with motivation etc.
Hope you are all enjoying the last of the summer
take care
Suexxxx
