Such a shame you and Heather couldn't make it, maybe next time. Hope things are ok with you, we will be thinking of you. It really won't be long before the September weekend, if we don't meet up before that, it will soon come around!
Take Care

Just had word back from the hostel - we park in the National Trust Carpark and rather than pay at the machine, if we go to the hostel and pay for the ticket there it is only £2. So will see you all in the morning. Bit gutted that I have started with a sore throat and aches and pains! Not gone to my dance class this morning inorder to conserve my energy!! See you tomorrow.

Hi all
Thanks Sarah for organising the weekend, had a great time, was lovely to meet you all. Really motivated now to get out and about more where I live. Agree we should arrange more trips like this, as well as revisiting the Tissington Trail to compare how fitter we all will be!
See you again soon

I think we all had a great time, didn't we? Musn't leave it too long until we meet again. I am reasonably ok for dates apart from June 10th and possibly 1st July. Don't mind where we meet. What does everyone else think?
Whats the link for the geo cache site?
Sarah

Hi Everyone
Have emailed you all as well. It was great fun and such an achievement! Thank you so much Sarah and Susanne for making all the arrangements. Lisa the photos are great! I think we should set a date for the next meet sooner than later. I have suggested a couple of dates in my email and if you are still up for the Cotswolds I suggest we centre it on Stow on the Wold. It's less frantic than Stratford and there are some lovely circular rides around there. Still some hills but maybe not as challenging as that last one! The bumps and bruises are healing in glorious technicolour and my finger has returned to normal size.
Speak to you all soon
Ann x

Hi everyone again
Working on the principle that there is no time like the present I have contacted the youth hostel at Stow in the Wold. Unfortunately they were fully booked for the first weekend I suggested in my email but have a 7 bed ensuite available for the second date. I have provisionally booked this in the name of our group. Please can you let me know asap if this is OK and I will confirm/cancel/change the booking. If any of you want to come down on the Friday night so we have an earlier start let me know and I can see if that is available as well. I appreciate some people who couldn't make the Peaks might want to join us. Let me know and I will email you the dates etc. We realised when we were away this weekend that perhaps we were a bit too open on this forum about our plans. Have you seen the number of views? Hence the slight caginess about dates! The guy at the hostel said there is plenty of bike storage so no problem there.
Take care
Ann x

What a fantastic weekend! I am amazed that I don't feel particularly stiff or anything! Either of suggested weekends is good for me. It was SO good to meet up with y'all even if I won't be cycling with you in India. Glad to hear that the bruises are glorious - we all need our "badges of honour" and I am sure it won't be long before we all have them! Stef

Hi all - have started new thread for Stow on the Wold! Thought this one was getting a bit full!
For all those out there, here is a summary of our wonderful trip to the Peak District.
The weather was fantastic - although fog and gloom had heralded the day. We managed to find each other across a crowded car park and set off about ten. The hills were huge so there was quite a bit of pushing bikes up to the top and then whooshing down the other side! But the trails were fantastic - beautiful views, lots of baby lambs and green shoots everywhere. The perfect day. Ann managed to throw herself over the handlebars in a spectacular way - fortunately no big harm done, but it shook us all up (Ann most of all) and made us all realise that accidents happen in a flash - and goodness knows what would have happened if (a) a car had been coming down this hill behind us and (2) how important helmets and good cycling gear is!!!
We cycled over 30 miles - and considering some of us, including me, had not been out for any long runs - we all did really, really well! By the end, we were all grinning - although legs were a bit jelly-like. Some more than others - every time I got off my bike, in the last couple of miles, I fell to the ground: very odd and very funny! Five of us set out for a brief recap the next day and covered 7 miles on the flat, just to show we could pick ourselves up and get out there again.
The youth hostel was great - sharing a room good fun and great cheap food. Would recommend this sort of weekend to anyone who is training! It was great!
