09-19-2007, 18:03 crazy_nannie Joined on 05-01-2006 Posts 28 Re: my first 10k powderhan castle 10k for cancer research Hi Michelle Don't be nervous, you will do just fine.  I completed my 1st 10k for Cancer Research UK on Sunday, 16 September, it was scheduled to be held at Loseley Park but was cancelled due to the foot and mouth outbreak in Surrey, so was relocated to Dunsfold Aerodrome, Dunsfold Park, Cranleigh.  Like you I was oh so nervous, but it was a such a great experience with lots of kind people cheering us all on, and I made it round in a respectable 1hr 22mins 56 secs.  I had only done 2 Race for Lifes before and like you was worried about asking for sponsorship so soon after my Race for Life in June but so many people have sponsored me again.  The 10k fundrasing page expires 6 weeks after the event so hopefully more people will donate too. Lots of good luck to you for your 1st 10k on 30 September, let us all know how you get on, good luck with your fundraising too, Cancer Research UK is such a worthy cause.
