06-05-2007, 10:52 tricia Joined on 06-05-2007 Posts 4 Swimming with the Fishies Attachment: me and shark (5).jpg Last Saturday, I completed a sponsered swim with the sharks at the Blue Planet Aqaurim for DeafBlind UK. just a quick thank you to all who sponsored me, and if you still want to, my site http://www.justgiving.com/triciaandshark is open until 02/08. I have to say that was one of the hardest,scariest things i have ever done. It seems that i am claustrophobic when under lots of water, which i found out in training! If you panic when wearing scuba gear, all you see is millions of bubbles but i eventualy got the hang of it. The sharks are also in mating season, so i wasnt exactly overjoyed to know that we are diving with sex crazed predators! We were weighted down and walked across the bottom of the tank, feeding the other fish and watching as the sharks (Tiger, lemon, nusery and another type i cant remember) swam above us with the stingrays. They are truly breath-taking creatures but they are also truly massive killing machines. My diver found a tooth when we were down there so i have a cool memento. I would recommend it to anyone who wants something unusual and scary to raise monry, and thanks to all who helped throw me to the sharks and also to Amanda at DeafBlind UK, and also Sue Price for all the support    Report
