An obvious idea, but it works!

Dear all,

An obvious one, but it really worked for me this morning!  I made homemade chocolate brownies and sold them at the office for 50p each.  Instead of just leaving them somewhere with a sign and sending an email, I walked around with them, and people attacked them (and most gave me more than 50p as a donation).  My total cost was about £6 and I've made a net profit of about £18-25 for my charity.  Next time I might wrap them individually and put a little tag on with my fundraising page in case anyone wants to donate as well.

Would definitely recommend it.

Happy fundraising,

Joanna

well done Joanna I think that is great I am new to all this but desperate to raise money for cancer research in lieu of my mams death only a week ago I loved her so much, she did not deserve to die, she had already fought cancer and been given the all clear once. But then back it comes again x

keep it up Sharon

This is a great idea, so i also gave it a try. The office i work in has two kitchens - one upstais and one downstair, so for the past three weeks, i have put a tin of muffins / brownies / caramel shortbread in each kitchen with a big sign asking for donations in return for a treat.

In the three weeks i have made over £22 this way which should put me on target to raise about £150 this way between now and Feb '08.

The interesting thing is seeing who is greedier (and more generous) - the upstairs workers or downstairs!! Currently upstairs are winning hands down!

That is such a great idea! Did you walk around town with them? Or your local area? I'm definitely going to give it a go!! Thanks for sharing!

I've just started fundraising for the Project Trust, which is a charity dedicated to sending 17-19 yr olds to under developed countries to bring aid and education. And i'm one of the volunteers heading to India where i'll be working with disadvataged 'street kids'.

That is such a great idea! But since I am still at school, I'll have to ask permisson to host a bake sale there. We have a "Charity team" or something similar and I'm sure they'll help, but it's a bit embarrasing because I don't know who will help me out. And I don't know were to sell them around our neighbourhood. I guess I'll have to think of something. It's a really nice charity you are donating to Nicola. Well, thanks for the baking idea!
