Huh? [:^)] T-shirt printing and other stuff
Reply Quote

Hi

My name is Louise, I'm planning to run 100 miles this year in different events to raise money for St Anne's Hospice. I'm pretty new to all this, so I was hoping some people would be able to help me.

Firstly, I'd like to get some t-shirts printed for during my races, with my justgiving site info on them, does anybody know of anywhere I can get this done at a low cost (I probably only want 5 or 6 t-shirts for myself and my little entourage).

Also, I'd love to arrange a charity auction or something similar, but I really don't know where to start with getting items for the auction. I'm thinking of maybe trying a few local football clubs, TV studios etc. Am I being too ambitious with this? My initial goal is to raise £500 for the charity, but I'd love to raise a lot more than that. How do people feel about using Ebay for charity auctions? I'm thinking that would be the best way to target a large audience, but maybe a function like a charity ball would be more appropriate.

Like I said, I don't really know how to go about organising all this, I am planning to speak to a rep from the charity later today, and I'm hoping she'll be able to help me in some way.

Thanks for listening

Hi Luiz
I work for a company that does T-shirt printing... I can do the small quantity you need for a fairly small cost in comparison to many internet based prnting co's no problem at all. I am running the London marathon in April and so I am selling space on my running vest for £50 a time and in return am putting their company logos on my shirt.

Email me if you need more info.

How are you going about selling space on your vest? That sounds like a great idea, some hints would be great.

Hi Louise

Have just joined here myself & 'feeling' my way around at the moment!

However, I saw your message & thought I would let you know that I can do TRANSFERS for ironing on to t-shirts in any designs you like.
My prices start from £1.85 each but I'll willingly do cheaper for you (or anyone) of course (depending on size depends on costs.
Please have a look at http://www.freewebs.com/ditzy-gets-personal/ or drop me a line

As for the rest of your message ... ditto!!
I'm pretty new to all this, so I was hoping some people would be able to help me.
I don't really know how to go about much of the whole fundraising thing - planning on doing quiz nights, speed dating, social events etc etc.

I'll keep an eye for your responses for some tips! Off tosee what else I can find out!!

Byeee!

Hi My friend and I have just signed up to do a Trek and are busy deciding all teh best ways of fundraising.  I was impressed at your idea to sell space on your shirt, how are you getting on with this, have you had many people take you up on the offer?

Hi There.
I am a parent of two kids age 5 and 7 in a small country school in Aberdeenshire

Because we are such a small school, only 24 pupils we dont get loads of funding.  The children have received one "white board" fhttp://www.virtuallearning.org.uk/whiteboards/IFS_Interactive_whiteboards_in_the_primary_school.pdfrom through the allocated funding however we had to raise the money to hang it in the junior class room.  We are now about to begin rasing money for a second board for the senior class room.

We have entered and plan to walk in mass at the The Great Wee Scottish Walk in Aberdeen on the 27th of May. My two kids did this last year and through JUSTGIVING.COM they raised £400.00 for childline. http://www.justgiving.com/MitchellandKendra

We have found a company who MAY be willing to sponsor t shirts for us IF the cost is reasonable.

What were looking for is 24 kids t shirts in 3 sizes and 20 adult (a generic large for parents) We would like Navy blue with bright Yellow writing.  Nothing on the front as they wear numbers although for the parents ones we may consider "MARYKIRK SCHOOL"
On the back we would like the school logo, (see website, just stick person) and
MARYKIRK STUDENTS WALKING TO RAISE FUNDS TO HANG THEIR WHITEBOARD SPONSORED BY CLARK AND ROSE INTERNATIONAL REMOVERS AND STORERS PORTLETHEN 01224 78 28 00.

We would welcome any ideas suggestions and recomendations of any one who could do this for us!  :0)

Thanks
Stacy Clark

Sponsorship of running vests for British 10k Run
Reply Quote
Hi everyone,

I am organising a group of runners (approx 15) for the British 10k run on 1 July. We are running for a small charity in Tanzania (www.mkombozi.org) and I want to find sponsorship to enable us to buy running vests. I'm really interested in the idea of selling space on the vests too, in return for printing companies' logos on them.

Please could you give me any tips on either getting sponsorship for the purchase of the vests, or selling space on them? Is it just a case of writing to companies to ask? Any tips would be really helpful - thank you. Our page is: www.justgiving.com/annaandcharles and e-mail is: crazy_annushka@yahoo.com

I hope to hear from anyone who could help. Thank you!

Do you have a printer? if so, you can buy T-Shirt printer packs at most computer stores (P.C. World etc), then you can print your own designs & iron them on t-shirts yourself

Yes  WHSmith do transfer sheets that you print a picture on from your computer and then iron on. Also some stationary stores do a sort of transfer glue

where you get a photocopy place if picture side down on a tee-shirt and paste with this glue then iron, or you can get fabric paints, puff paints alsorts and make up you own designs.

ive done several   one with 'race for life on front' and "have you sponsored me yet" and my web site on the back.

and several others on similar lines - they have proved to be quite successful.

its open to your imagination - good luck

sarah

Hi Louise,

I have been trying to organise a charity auction/ raffle to boost our sponsorship for Race for Life, and I have e-mailed all the big stores, restaurants and football clubs in our area as well as the big T.V companies. So far responses have been variable, I have had donations from Woolworths, Peacocks and Ipswich F.C plus a local restaurant has donated a meal for two and GMTV sent a breakfast set, as I put in my e-mails 'if you don't ask......'. You never know what you will get but every little bit helps and if the first round of mail doesn't work, try again!

In regards to t-shirts last year for Race for life I bought t-shirt transfer paper and printed off a photo of my uncle to print on the back of my shirt as he is the reason I am raising money for Cancer Research, it's a quick and cheap way to do your own designs and most packs give you a free t-shirt too!

Good luck with your runs, I hope you raise loads of money for your hospice, keep up the good work!....sue.-x-
