Hi
Congrats Von on your new grandchild. I am called Nannygoat by one of the grandkids, Grandge by another and Grandimize by the other two, Don't ask why, but its just the names they came up with. But I'll answer to anything.

Think I'd give X cycle a miss and stick to spinning. Its bad enough just having to control my legs let alone the arms as well.

I am having a week off from the training this week, If the children can have half term so can I. Anyway the old body could do with a rest.

Hi all,

Firstly Congratulations to Von xx

Aly that is a lovely blessing for the baby, you are just naturally the most poetic person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

So Debs which date are you going to plumb for?

Now that the disco is out of the way its safe for me to worry about the ball! Now I've decided that it is going to be hard to sell 8 tables... Why do I do this to myself... Oh yes, its that I remember crying in bed this morning when my friend sent me a text ( and believe me when I say I''m blarting now) saying that she's miscarried her second baby... So will make an extra effort to raise even more money this time to go towards all the research that they do.

Donna

Hi Donna

There is no hurry, I am just a bit of a geek I like to be organised with all my lists and folders, the kids call me Monica (from friends). Just wish I could stop organising long enough to get some training in. Had a quick reponse from about a dozen women, all interested in taking part.

Best Wishes

Deb,

It sounds like you and I will get on famously!

That's great, lets hope some more of them are interested, it should be amazing.

Elaine, got your email re the pampered chef, there are a couple of cake tins that I liked the look of.

Linds which airport are you flying into for the weekend of Aly's cycling? I'll book mine to coincide with yours.

Starving and come home for lunch and a tidy up, so speak soon.

Hi Everyone

Shall we make our Somerset Training weekend Friday 25th, Sat, 26th, Sun 27th June 2010?

Is anyone flying from Bristol to Ali's Scottish weekend? if so can I fly up with you, or Amanda are you going? if so where will you fly from? We may get a cheapish deal if we book now. When are we planning to go, is it the Friday which is the 16th April, and do we know how we are getting from the airport (oh which airport in Scotland is eveyone else flying into) to Ali's? Any of you other girl's booked anything yet so we can tie up with you.

Elaine please pass onto Von, Congrat's on the baby x

A thought on the Tea for China thing, I don't mind writing some letter's to try to get some support with the event to tea suppliers, so once we know how big it's going to be let's try to get some help with the cost of running the event, maybe we need a few of us to co-ordinate it, I don't mind offering to help, but don't want to do it on my own - give it some thought Girls!

Off to let the lovely puppy out - again!
Love Deb x

I'll wait to hear from you all re the weekend in June!

Hi all.

Debs those dates are fine with me - I've pencilled them in already!!

Re Scotland, I've had a look at flights from Southampton, and you're looking at around £100 with luggage, the actual fare is about £6.00 but its the taxes and extras which whack it up.  To hire a minibus would be around £400 plus the fuel.  Of course that then means that we would have transport once we get there.  I'm still looking into coach fares.

Donna, I was chatting with Elaine today, and we would like to come to your ball, so if any of the others want to join us and make up a table, please shout now!!

On that note, Don, can you recommend a cheap and cheerful place to stay? Also, if you need any supplies from Action for Charity (balloons etc) let me know and I'll collect them for you and give them to you when next I see you.

And finally, Elaine and mines cycle event is definitely the 13 June 2010 so keep that clear in your diaries, either for taking part or helping out - or both lol!!

Bye for now

Linds

Hi Linds and Girls

What a great idea to make up a table, I will check whats happening but will do my best to join you.

I will definately be available as a steward on the cycle event.

Debs I havent pencilled the dates in because I'm not as organised as Linds, but me and Vicky will definately be joining you.

How is everyone, I suppose we wont meet up until next year now what with christmas fast approaching.

I am so upset I cant make Scotland, still mummy duties must come first.

Love to all Sue xxx

Hi Ladies

Dont know if you have looked at flying with ryanair to Glasgow Prestwick- its 50 mins from Glasgow but has a train station, if you show your flight confirnation you get half price train travel. With ryanair you can get fantastic deals but  sometimes by the time add all the extras its not any cheaper, but worth a look.

Hi ladies,

I would officially like to say that you are the best lot of girls anyone could meet and I'm so glad we all started chatting on this site, seems like I've known you forever. The others don't know what they're missing out on what with all the suppor that goes on.

Debs I've put the dates in my diary for weekend

Debs 2, I'm going to do the emailing to event 1 on Thursday night, but how about Friday 18th June for Tea 4 China?
My thoughts are that we each run our own event like a coffee morning/evening, and keep our own profits, but it would give us local press coverage if we are doing in country wide, the usual beg, steal and borrow cakes from people sort of thing. Anyone got any thoughts?

Finally Linds and Elaine thank you for suggesting and wanting to come to our ball, its going to be fab and absolutely everyone is welcome (we only have 250 tickets to sell.....) I've somehow been conned into agreeing to buying my daughter a new dress for the event! will look at the rates from the hotel where the ball is, not sure what space will be like at my house yet but that may be an option!

Suz, how's the mum to be doing? oh and I've got to get it together for face painting eeks

Have I missed anything?

Donna
xx

Hi Donna

A weekend would probably be better for me but if a Friday suits most people I'm happy with that and the 18th June is fine. From the response I've had so far I think most of us are thinking the same, a couple of women have suggested having a joint event with others in their area and one lady went to a coffee morning in the summer where they put stalls round the sides of the hall and charged £5 each- they sold things like candles, plants, books etc.

I think writing to the tea companies is a good idea. If you write to your local McDonalds prior to a fundraising event they will give you free squash and cups you just have to make arrangements to go in and collect them.
