Get wrapping!
This Christmas I raised £60 wrapping people's Christmas Presents in return for a suitable donation to the charity of my choice. It was the first year I'd tried doing this and I only offered my wrapping service in the week before Christmas. This coming Christmas I intend to advertise it widely and run my service for the whole of December!
When you meet up with friends, family or colleagues and tell them about your fundraising event there is always the danger they will forget your url before they get round to making a donation. Why not go to one of those business card printing machines you often see in shopping areas and the like, and print off some business cards with details of your charity and your URL on. You can then hand these out to people so they have a reminder of your justgiving page and will be prompted to donate when they come across your business card later - good luck!
The smarties idea!!
I think this could really work. It seems like it has for other people.
I had no-idea where to get empty tubes from - so i phoned Nestlle (who make them). They were unable to help. My next port of call was EBAY!! what a site. I now have 11 tubes of smarties - with the sweets in heading my direction. They are the BIGGER tubes - 170g ONES. The bigger they are the more money can go in them. Ok the total cost was £25 for all 11 plus P+P. But work it out. Even if they only fit £20 in each tube - Thats £220. We can then RE-USE the tubes and get more money.
I am hoping to do the NY Marathon and this is the start of a very long fundraising road.
