Hi Girls
No i haven't fell off the end of the earth. Got over my envy for Aly a great big well done from me. I was thinking of you all as you can imagine. Well done Lindsay with your meal. I managed to raise almost 50 pounds last friday night when we had a pampered chef party seems nothing in comparison to what you are all doing!!but every little bit helps.

Gooood Mornnnning allllllll
and what a wonderful morning it is, the sun is shining, I've got loads of house work to do.
Amanda lovely to hear from you again, always wondered about the pampered chef parties, a few of you have had them haven't you. How you getting on with the cycling with your knee now?
Debs have you narrowed down weekends for June cycling, need to get it in the diary soon.
Debs, are there any times that you can't do the tea event? We might as well see if we can co-ordinate to the same day! That would be amazing!
Elaine, your get up and go will get up and come back, especially with the cycling weekends being planned. How's your dad's recovery coming along?
And now that the DISCO is over, I can think about other things. We made £400.00 each and it was a brilliant night. Deena even commented on my energetic dancing....... but we won't go into that.....
And the Brucie bonus is that people are showing an interest for the next disco and the ball next year.
Deena had a really great idea about payment for the ball. Get a deposit asap and give them a final payment date of 1st of May.
Might make it a bit easier for us to sell tickets and people to commit that way (we hope)
I'm off to post on the AFC forum now! have my second cup of tea, think about cleaning the dining room floor and putting the dinner on ( Maybe) Oh and then update my spreasheets for the next lot of events with contacts and stuff.
Yours, on a very big high signing out!
Donna

Hello
Wow, Well done on the disco it's so good to have a successful event that everyone want's to do again. Suppose I should start thinking about fundraising, oh and cycling too!!
Busy making Christmas Puddings with my Godchildren today, big stir up Sunday! thinking I'll be glad when there made.
We've got this new Puppy too which isn't helping he's having getting in and out of the dog flap lessons, and one of the godchildren has eaten a dog biscuit.
As for the June weekend my diary is looking fairly empty so shall we aim for the weekend of the 19th or 26th, if eveyone say's the best weekend for them we can choose the most popular one.
And as for tea for china I'm up for that!
Back to the puddings, and the puppy! oh joy
Love Deb x
ps Well done Aly, sound like it was great fun x

Hi Donna and all
Well done on the fundraising and its great that people had such a good time that they want more. I think the deposit thing for the ball is a good idea, I did voluntary work with the fundraising team at Childline and thats what they did.
The tea 4 China thingy - well I will be away for Easter (first 2 weeks in April) and I can't do the 22nd May(nieces communion) or the weekend 29th/30th May. We had our coffee morning last year in June it was a beautiful day so everyone sat in garden with their tea and cakes it was lovey. June might be a bit hectic for you with your ball though. let me know what you think.
Like the other Deb I should really get out there on my bike instead of just talking about it, wont be today though its pouring down and I have just a wee tiny bit of a hangover!
Speak soon

There is hope!
I had a faint feeling of anticipation and enjoyment. Like you yesterday Donna with the sun shining. I am still wary because it is usually shot away with the demands of others but I feel strong enough to take it now. Have spoke to Dad and although his recovery is slow there is progress. Von has a new grandson arriving any day. My own girls are coping with life. Tis good, long may it last.
Absolutely fantastic with your disco Donna and Deena. Was it a sell out? What other money spinners did you do on the night?
T 4 China thingy. How does it work?
Debs, I just need to get the date of Solent Cycle Challenge before committing to a date in June. Cant remember at the moment.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Hi all
Just catching up on the forum as had a visitor at weekend. She came up from Essex just for our disco and had a ball. So it looks like I will have her to stay for Donna's next one. All my family had a brill time as I know everybody else did. MANY THANKS TO DONNA who did most of the organising. She is a STAR. Next challenge the ball.
Both weekends in June are fine for me Debs so I will go with the majority.
Hi roomy, hope knee getting stronger and well done with your pampered chef party.
Deena

Hi everyone!!
Great to hear everyones good news. Re Debs cycle weekend, I'm thinking the later date, that way its not too close to Donna's do, or Elaine's IoW ride.
I'm pleased to report I have another spray tan party booked, but not til nearer Xmas, and I have a Craft sale on the 15th November which although I'm not organising it, they are donating the proceeds to me! I'm running the teas and coffees.
Also, I'm getting a lot of positive feed back from the Chinese night, so I'm thinking I'll do a similar one early next year. A Greek night is sounding good.
Nothing to do with China, but I was walking the dogs in the forest late this afternoon, and came across two herds of deer!! They made a terrific sight and made me appreciate life in general.
Cheerio for now.
Love Linds

Hi Ladies,
It's been a while, but I do occassionally lurk, and good to know that everyone is doing so well with their fundraising, well done to you all. I can't wait to get stuck into it once my marathon's out of the way.
I fly out on Thursday morning, I'm feeling very positive and ready, despite being plagued with a calf injury for the last 6 weeks or so. I've been having twice weekly sports massages and my back manipulated. My chiropractor and sports therapist have been fantastic, I just now feel I want to fly. Please cross everything for me on Sunday 1st November, that everything stays in place.
I look forward to getting back into cycling mode.
Well done Aly on Jordan, sounds like it was a blast.
Thank you all for your good wishes and sponsorship - very kind, especially as we are all in the same boat.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Love Mavis

Hi all
I was doing some planning at work this morning and noticed that Chinese New Year is on 14/02/10 and have decided to have a Chinese New Years party, not entirely sure what I'll do yet - might just have it in the house and ask for donations anyway thought I'd let you know in case anyone wants to organise something at this time.
I'm not planning on having too many events my main one will be a racenight we raised £4,200 at one earlier this year for another event.
Mavis good luck with the marathon, I did it last year and loved every minute of it, although you might not have guessed that when I was shouting like a mad woman for chocolate at 17 miles, I threw $10 to a man in the crowd and got him to run into a shop and buy me some. Once I scoffed the bar of chocolate I got my second wind and nothing was going to stop me finishing even if I had to crawl. If i was to give one piece of advice it would be to arrive at the start as late as possible our charity was allocated a time of 4am and we didn't start until 9.30 that was a long time to hang around in the cold, I have a friend who got the Statten Island Ferry at 8am much more civilised. If I can do it anyone can, Good luck.
Better go and det the dinner on.
Debs

HI
I am doing the second China Event and was hoping to ask a few questions.
I have been reading that some people have done a Pampered Chef Party and i was woundering how this works in relation to fundraisng?
I am strugling with both training and fundraising, although i find reading all of your posts on here very inspirational.
I would like to come on some training weekend but i feel that i am so unfit at the mo that i would be days behind never mind miles.lol.
Thanks again, Look forward to meeting you all

Hi Steph,
I am holding a pampered chef party on Friday 13th Nov. I did one for another charity and have been to a friends one. I am hooked because I am kitchen gadget lover. The stuff is a bit pricey but good quality. The commision earned on goods sold is not wonderful. You have to sell a hell of a lot to make big bucks but it is fun having a night in. You have to supply the food items for the demonstrations and drink helps to add to the enjoyment so that needs to be taken into consideration. You could also get faraway friends to order on line to add to your party orders. For example www.pamperedchef.biz/debbiecasey and then go into the host party, (Elaine Havercroft).
Yes, email invites will be coming to all.
Plenty of time to get fit. We are all in varying degrees of fitness and unfitness. We wouldnt be taking this as a challenge if we were superfit. You will be fine. Look forward to meeting you.
Vons grandson has arrived safely. yaaaay She now has the dilemma of what she will be called being a grandparent.
Mavis, I am keeping everything crossed for you. Go girl, come back safely. XXXXXXXXE

forgot to mention that the Solent cycle challenge is on the 19th June next year so please take that into consideration when organising training that month.

Hi Girls
Donna you work wonders with the fundraising i really wish i was as motivated as you.
knee doing pretty weel - thank you all for asking. Hip seems to be on a good moment as wll currently typical after i decided to ask GP for help. Had x ray and all well with that but i have to go and see him on fri morning - if i stay awake enough as on nights yet again and he can only fit me in then he away on my days off..
Forgot to tell you i finally went to a X Cycling class i was telling some of you about. Basically it is like spinning but the handlebars move side to side so works you arms aswell. It was hard work just like spinning and fun. Only problem it was a bit like trying to rub your tummy and pat your head at the same time as your legs were going round and then your arms were going side to side. My face was like a bettroot after a 30 min class.
