That's just fantastic! Well done! I am usually at work in the day, but off this week, just seen the 2 ladies who will be doing the ride this year with Fern on This Morning, kind of brought it home what we have signed up for!

Hoping to get lots of cycling done this week.

Good luck everyone with the fundraising, and well doen again Sarah!

Well done, Sarah, that's a fantastic result. I went out on the bike again yesterday and did 10 miles. All on the flat which sounds easy but meant that I had to pedal all the way. Last week I had a few big hills to struggle up but the free-wheeling down the other side was fantastic and more than made up for the hard work.   I was talking to a colleague of mine today who does long distance bike riding as a hobby. Next weekend.  he is doing the Coast to Coast ride which is 150 miles across the Lake District and the Pennines and he also does the London to Brighton each year. He advises that we concentrate on building up our stamina over the winter months, as he put it, 'keping nice and warm in the gym' and then take to our bikes in earnest from April onwards. He even suggested that we went in for the London and Brighton event as part of our training schedule. I said I'll think about it!!

Hi, it is really nice to see so many emails of everyone worrying as I am!!  I have done the London to Brighton a few times and it gets really, really busy.  If you are going to do it, I suggest you get a start time of 6-6.30am and then you should miss most of the slower riders.  Around our way is a charity called The Childrens Trust and they do a number of bike rides in May - one is 40 miles and I might try that one.

Well done Angie for getting all your sponsorship - I can't wait to be at that stage.

And well done to Sarah for getting over £1,000, I haven't raised a penny yet - just keep talking about it!!!

Kim

In answer to the earlier question posted by D-ream, you need to contact  the Organisers - "Action for Charity" at www.actionforcharity.co.uk .The cycle ride that I am on 11-21 october is now full I believe, but they have added another one.....All the best!

On the page you refer to if you look in the box on the bottom left corner, sponsor a friend,"see all the womenfor women fundraisers" information link, if you click on this it gives all the women taking part in this years and next years challenges, there are quite a few 2007 folks on there. I haven't been able to select just 2007 from this link though. When I set up my page I had to put the challenge in as "other", perhaps there won't be a listing for us until after this years have done theirs.

Hi, when I set up my page, from www.justgiving.com, I selected "Get a free online fundraising page", then clicked "Create your own page", then chose "Sporting", entered that I was doing a cycling event and the date - it showed a list of events and Cycle India 2007 wasn't on it so I typed that name on the right of the screen, entered that it was an overseas event, then typed women for women as the charity, chose Women for Women and then carried on entering details - I think it worked OK.

Good Luck

Kim

Hi Everyone

How's the training going. I went out with my husband on Saturday for what was supposed to be a 12 mile circular ride from Stratford-on-Avon.. Ended up doing a THIRTY mile ride through the Cotswolds as we inadvertently followed the signs for the longer route and took in the optional extra loops as well. It was really good fun and apart from a slight ache between the shoulder pains I felt fine the next day. All that gym work must be paying off[ :)] Have decided that I must buy some special clothes sooner rather than later because I got really sweaty on the way around and got very cold once I stopped pedalling.

The great thing is that I now have loads more confidence about managing the distances in India.

Looking forward to hearing how everyone else is doing.

Well done, 30 miles very impressive! My training is going ok , gym work and some cycling, did 10 miles on Saturday, doing lots of fundraising planning at the moment, Curry night planned for November and have organised a trip to the Good Food Show too. Also registered with a mobile phone recycling place. Barn Dance arranged for March 2007.
