Hey there
I did india last year and am signed up for cuba, so it cant be that bad!! I had a great time and made loads of good friends, Donna included!!!the fundraising isnt easy but if you break it down into small targets rather than scare yourself about the whole amount, youll amaze yourself and when the total starts to grow the sense of achievment is great.Last time i only got the last part of the fundraising amount the friday before it was due in!!! but i got there.
I would wholeheartedly recommend it, youll never look back,
All the best
Angie

The application form is in the post...I have spoken to a nice lady at action for Charity. I even cycled 10 miles yesterday!
The hard part now is getting that money together...I have never been good at asking people for dosh - but I guess I had better learn!
I have registered on the first ride, which I believe you and Angie are doing too?

This sounds like a once in a lifetime ride, well done for going for it. I am doing something a little less epic, Leatherhead to Le Mans in 24 hrs, which is a total of 170 miles so no mean feat in itself. I find asking people for money very daunting so am glad I have a relatively small target of £350. I am in Southampton so was intrigued to read about the difficulties people have had getting publicity down here, quite strange considering we are in one of the richest regions in the country. Good luck with the ride.

Hi all,
Please don't say its gonna rain Donna, I am hoping the summer will come back!! The Tour de France seems to have had some good weather so hopefully we will as well.
Julz, i'm in Redbridge which is a bit of a lesser known part of Southampton (virtually in Totton). I haven't tried to get company sponsorship since I really don't have any experiance at fundraising. If it was a more grueling challange like you are doing with a substantial target then I would be going down those lines, however I am hoping I can raise my amount through work, family and friends.

Morning..
Worked last night so still tired, but my weight is falling off at the moment at a rate of 1lb a day, but no doubt that will plateau soon. Purely making sure I don't eat after 5pm is what's doing it.
Darren.. good luck with the bike ride, sounds pretty gruelling to me, we may have to collect more money being an overseas challenge but at least we have 5 days to complete it.. lol... I have never done fundraising before either. I just bit the bullet and emailed a load of people. All they can do is say no.
Hi to Angie, Sarah & Donna... so far we are all on the same ride which is really nice, getting to know some of you so soon. And we don't live too far from each other which is another bonus. Look forward to arranging a cycle meet up in the near future.
short and sweet today as knackered.. catch up soon xxxxxx

Hi guys
Just starting a night shift, having worked all day as well - can't wait! It's all official - am on the first ride. Have managed to do a couple of 10 mile rides recently (have had inlaws here to look after the littleun's whilst I've been out which helps!).
Have to admit something here - dont' linch me! I am a weather forecaster! So all this rubbish weather could be blamed on me - sort of! Good news is, it's looking pretty good for next few days - in the South at least - so no excuse (except for sunburn and heat!) for not getting out there and doing a few miles!
Anyway - long night ahead, fundraising plans to make - oh and maybe a few weather forecasts!!
