hi Girls

Donna hope you enjoyed your first day at your new job and was not too daunting.

What dates are you thinking of when meeting up in August as we are considering a camping hol somewhere near cotswolds can't remember off hand. If it comes to happen it will be 25th-22nd aug if anyonw fancies a meet up even if for a coffee and i promise not to moan too much.

Hi Guys,

I won't be able to make von's thing - got a wedding AND my nephew's christening that weekend (and they're not in the same part of England either so have to make sure that not hungover from the wedding!!). But am up for the Stratford thing - I know I'm not doing China but I just hate being left out of things!! :o)

I'm so not ready for the Solent Coast - went hiking up a mountain in Norway last week and pulled my calf quite badly falling over going UP the mountain ... silly girl!! Then my knee objected quite loudly to the downhill bits but was fun!! Just hope a week's worth of intense training is enough!!

Amanda, hope you're coming along with the knee now. Stupid physio ... did he even pass his exams??

Donna, I haven't started that book yet but will do asap and send it back. Sorry for so long!!

Sezmo, good luck for Sunday!!

Right, salad time!!
Speak to you all soon!!
Love,
Sam

Thanks Sam....looking forward to the ride, but not to the logistics of parking, catching buses and lorries etc  - all at 4am!  I did toy with doing the Solent Coast on the Saturday too - but with those sorts of start times, I think that'd be mad....and I am going up to the Lakes on Tuesday and doing some mountain bike trails up there.  So, Good luck for Saturday - I'll be thinking of you - oh and the weather looks OK!
The next mad thing I am doing is something called the Wild Wales ride on August bank holiday Monday.  90 miles in North Wales with 3000 metres of climbing - looks like a killer - if anyone fancies it check out http://www.s198483320.websitehome.co.uk/wildwales/wildwaleschallenge.htm - I am doing it with my brother and brother in law....

Which weekend are you talking about, Donna, for Stratford?  My school holiday weekends are filling up rapidly!

Another night shift tonight - 3rd of the week! Olivia is in front of the TV, so mioght go and have a little sleep.....

love, Sarah x

Hi Girls
Isn't it infuriating when the medical professions keep giving you conflicting advice.

Since the op i have been pestering about getting out on bike and building leg back up and my dear friend physio said no and i had to buil knee up before leg. As you may remember i haven't got straight leg so exercises with weights was pulling on outside of knee causing lots of pain when walking etc. and physio wants me to have a knee brace.

My visit to occy health got me to see a doc who thought i was getting depressed due to the slow progress of leg and i would agree my mood has been down pretty much as i so much want to get back to normal. This led to appt today with my GP and guess what!!!!! HE wants me to go to gym get on bike with tension to build up inner thigh muscle and quads as this will help support the knee and the idea of a knee brace is ludicrous as this will stop my leg muscles working for themselves and put me back (which is what the instructor in gym said) and he wants me to actually get out on my bike - being sensible of course. So he is saying all the things i want to hear so what better therapy for me to stop being down, who needs tablets when you can do what makes you feel good in the first place.

As going away to Iains parents tomorrow for a wekk bike going with me as that area not as hilly as Plymouth so perfect opportunity to ease myself in gently.

As you may guess i came out of GP surgery with beaming smile on face. At last things are looking up and may actually cure myself at this rate.

Hi Donna, will obviously join you on your weekend if I ever get on my bike that is. Hope you are settling into new job.

There are only a few people that have said they will join us for a gentle cycle in Sherwood forest area (Notts area, see previous postings). Sue, Lyndsey, Donna, Von and myself. Does anyone else want to come along on July 11/12. Past and present cyclists welcome. Von will put us up. (Cuba challenge videos showing in the evening).

Well done Sarah, Julz, Sam and Penny on completing the Solent Coasts Cycle Challenge. You are an amazing bunch and promise I will join you next year.

Sarah, Ashley thanks you again for helping out. It dawned on him on his way back that it might have been the Cuban gang because of the pink bike.

X Elaine

Hi everyone,

Angie, have you directed any of your fellow travelling companions to this site, do you think they might be interested in coming? Have a great time at Butlins, which one are you going to?

Today was great, in the wrong spot though, but the weather was fine. made about £90.00. The customers weren't coming to me in the end, so I had to go round like one of those people at concerts selling beer, with my peanut butter cups, came home with a few, but I can manage that. Oh happy days fund raising girls

Amanda, how are you getting on with your knee now?

Donna
