10-08-2009, 14:33 debser Joined on 10-02-2009 Glasgow Posts 12 Women 4 Women China 2011 Hi Thought I'd start a new thread for anyone taking part in the 2011 cycle.  This is my first Challenge and I will be going alone so it will be great to hear from anyone with advice on both the challenge and fundraising .  I live in Glasgow so once I get a bit more confident on my bike it would be good to meet up with others. I have just returned from my first ever cycle challenge, Jordan event 2. We had a ball, I travelled alone and have made some great life long friends. I am going alone again but now know there really is nothing to worry about. One bit of advise I would give is as soon as you get the list of others taking part, get in touch with anybody near you and set up training days etc. If you get chance join the training weekends that Action for charity organise in the cotswolds, they are imformative and also another way of meeting ladies on the ride Hope this helps!!!! Fort William not so far away for you so anytime you feel like a training weekend etc give me a wee shout and we will see what we can arange. I noticed there are a few women in and around Glasgow going on the various dates in fact there is one from Newton Mearns which is where I live. There are a couple of women from Edinburgh going on my dates so I will contact them too because my family live in Musselburgh and I am often there at the weekends. Will have to do some training on my own first though so I dont make a complete fool of myself. Regards Deb x    Report
