Anyone else doing the Great South Run this year? Hope so, will look pretty stupid by myself. Still, least I'll cross the line first... and last...
I'm running for The Stroke Association, hoping to raise £400, but will have to see how it goes!
My page is www.justgiving.com/mikesgreatsouthrun if you fancy taking a look (and you could even sponsor me, if you like)!
Thanks
Mike

That makes three of us then!
I ran last year and I have never been so wet in all my life! It was still a great day and fantastic to be part of.
Good luck

Well, I ran it 10 years ago as a young fit 43 year old.
I'm going to see how I do with 10 years, 1 divorce and 1 triple bypass since that time! I'm sponsoring guide dogs for the blind, and my page is http://www.justgiving.com/steves10miler.
Look forward to being overtaken by most of you............................

Hey everyone. I'm doing this run and am quite terrified. I am doing this with a few colleagues for the mental health charity we work for, Rethink. I'm not sure why we chose such a long run for our first one, but it's certainly something to work towards... Good luck everyone!

Hi, this is my first ever race and I am terrified!! I am running on my own and am running for Kidney Research UK. Good to see a lot of different charities represented! Unfortunately all of the celebrities seem to be running for the same charity!
Good luck to you all!! x

This will be my first run also... and yes starting off with 10 miles doesnt feel the most sensible now!!
I'm guessing 18.000 people will be a big crowd!! :D
I'm running for PIPS - Public Initaitive for the Prevention of Suicide and Self-harm
http://www.justgiving.com/rittster
So anyone know what pub people will head to on Sunday evening lol :D
Good luck everyone!!

Hiya, im running The Great South Run for the first time, infact it is the first time ive entered into a run at all! Im really excited but also a little apprehensive to say the least!!!! Ive really got the running bug i have to say but im expecting to work extremely hard running 10 miles. I always wanted to challenge myself and never got quite round to doing it, i have definately shocked my friends and family by entering the race, and im determined to finish it, even if i have to crawl over finishing line! I havent got a time in which i want to complete the race in, ill just be happy to complete it regardless. Whats spurring me on and giving me the incentive is the charity im running for which is Cancer Macmillan, a charity close to my heart. Anyway id love to hear from anyone who is running The Great South Run, and if you fancy visiting my just giving page its www.justgiving.com/francescagrundy1. Happy training. x

Ha ha, 10 miles is not the most sensible distance for me at the mo, but you are running for a great charity so im sure you will make it no probs to the finishing line. Ive not been to Portsmouth for a few years but there are some good pubs near the old ships, however i think after all that running id pass out after one beer!!!! No harm in trying though, afterall it will be much deserved!!! Good luck.
