Hi Well I combined my 44th birthday bash, with a somewhat dramatic haircut - I had my dreadlocks cut a LOT shorter via a pair of garden shears! - to encourage people to give money to Railway Children, rather than give me a birthday pressie. And I managed to raise £180 on the night. Even got a write up in the local rag (Huddersfield Examiner). Shame that didn't lead to any donations lol. The evening was a lot of fun - apart from the haircutting, that was traumatic! I'm hoping to upload the cutting of my dreads to YouTube. But the story of how my dreadlocks came to be - I just didn't cut my hair (or brush it) for several years, and they appeared one day as if by magic!
