London Marathon 2009 support!
|
|
|
|
|
Hi,
I am running my first marathon in April in London. I am not a fast runner at all, but have been slowly building my way into fitness since May last year. I have now lost 1 stone and 9lbs and counting! I hope to get to the end of the race! My longest run so far is about 13 1/2 miles.
If you are running the London marathon as well, please write here and we can support each other!
I am running for Get Kid's Going!

Thanks!
Now your turn!

Hi Sparkle
I am first timer this year too, running for a charity as well. I thought I would let you know that there are more of us out here than you think.
I hope your training is going well, mine is for this stage (fingers crossed) we both stay injury free until the start line and race day !!
I am running for the RNID (personal cause in the family) http://www.justgiving.com/debbieruns2009
Quick question, have you joined in on Real Buzz yet, there is a forum just for London Marathon 2009, with lots of support and encouragment available from other newbies and the more seasoned marathoners. I have also done and am doing a blog via them, keeps the motivation going and you get support too from others !!
Happy training this week
Deb

Hi,
Thanks for your messages! I am really looking forward to it! I am running my first 18 miler this weekend! Then the big 20 is coming up soon! I ran the Silverstone 1/2 mararthon last sunday, that was good and I started to see some improvement at last! Still not a fast runner, but I am getting there!
How are you two doing?
I will have a look at the other forum!
Keep it up everyone!
Lisa

Hi Lisa aka Sparkle
Sorry its been a while since I checked in, I went through a rough phase a couple of months ago, with no running because of a mega infection but got back on track. Longest so far has been 18 miles, and I have my big 20 planned for very early Saturday this week.
Hope that you are well and all goes well with your prep...not long to go now and we will all make it round
Bring it on !

Hi All
FLM 2009 will be my second Marathon, I did the Loch Ness Marathon in 2004.
Looking forward to Sunday although not the drive from Fort William (home) to London.
I'm not a natural runner - fun & run should not be in the same sentence as far as I'm concerned - but to raise funds for the British Red Cross I will do anything.
GOOD LUCK to everyone see you all on Sunday! I'll the one in the Red Cross running vest & a Kilt!
