As I've recently reached the ripe old age of 50 I thought I'd comemorate it by running 50 miles. Well actually this event is 52.4 miles ( 2 marathons, back to back) on 19 July. This will be an immense challenge for me as I've not been close to this distance before.
I'm raising funds for the Geoff Thomas Foundation which focuses on getting those leukaemia and cancer cures that are sitting on scientists shelves out to those that need them most. So this charity can really make a difference to many peoples lives right now.
For those who dont know, Geoff Thomas was a professional footballer with Crystal Palace amongst others and suffered from leukaemia. He has put himself personally through a number of tough fundraisng events including the whole of the Tour de France.
My training regime is pretty hard going. Ive run over 100 miles in the past 2 weeks alone. Support for this run will make the early mornings and aching limbs all worthwhile.
