Stick out tongue [:P] My fundraising ideas that worked before
Reply Quote
A couple of years ago I did the Cycle the Nile 2005, I had 4 months to raise the amount £2,500 I did suceed with days to spare and raised a total of £2,800.
I did the usual getting sponsership but that was slow going also I had the collection tins from the charity.
I decided to hold one big Charity fun day in the village putting all my eggs in one basket so to speak, here are some of the things I did on that fun day.
Car Treasure Hunt
Balloon Race
Face Painting
Plant Stall
Car Washing by the local fire brigade
Promise Auction
Raffle
Tombola
Cake Stall
Book Stall
Brick a Brac stall
Quiz night at the pub finished the day off.
Name the teddy
Refreshments
we raised a total of £2,200 that day it was hard work and very stressful, I wouldnt reccomend doing it in one day again but as lots of small events.
We are only a small village of 210 houses so we had to do a lot of publising the event but it worked.
If anyone wants any further info on how any of the things were done please get in touch.
This year I am fundraising again but I have got 9 months time to reach my target of £3,000 a bit more relaxing but I not sitting on my laurels I have got the ball rolling and intend to keep it rolling with lots of small events.

Hi Dawn, i'm trying to raise £1000 for the NAS and have been arranging several events in the past few months, i am planning a fun day like you described planned for august 09.

i would be very grateful for some advice and info and what to do and how to do it. e.g. how did u get people involved? what were you charging? did people/businesses donote time and resources or did you have to pay? and where did you hold it? etc.
