Curry Night - Help??
Reply Quote
Hi All

I am hoping to set up a curry night in the new year to raise funds for my bike ride next year.

So - i need to find a local curry house and get them to agree to a set price of which i sell tickets to friends and family adding £5 on top!? Am i thinking on the right tracks?

This set price doesnt include drinks does it? As for my friedns this would push the cost of the ticket well up into the hundreds!!!

On the night you then add in raffles etc to raise even more cash?

Sorry for the simple questions just wasnt sure if i was on the right tracks.

Have you any other little tips for raising extra funds on the night? Has anyone ever done an extra charge per drink ordered to go into the drink pot or maybe a swear jar over the evening? I am sure this might get a little extra cash.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hopefully i can find a local place willing to hold this event - is it common they agree to it?

Alice
xx

Have you organised a venue yet? I did one a while ago which I raised a total of £435! And only 27 people attended!

I contacted the Indian Restaurant, who agreed to do a buffet for £8 per head just the food, I then charged people £20 as they laid on half a dozen bottles of wine too, so mentioned first drink was free! Did a raffle on the night too, which got me the rest of the money and it was covered in the local magazine.

Good luck

Wow that was really godo value! I have spoken to a few but they wernt that keen. I am sure they may have changed thier minds now what with people spending less on eating out! I think i will approach them again! any business has got to be good business now!

Hi Alice

How did the Curry Night go, did you go ahead with it?

Hope it went well and you raise loads.  I am taking part in a half marathon in London in Sept for Midlands Air Ambulance, so trying to do a quiz evening with raffle in August, cake sale next month and hopefully a Dutch Auction in Sept.

I contacted the restaurant of our local casino enquiring as to whether we could do something there, like you charging people so much but I've never had the courtesy of a reply.
