Surprise [:O] wfw - stratford - august 2/3
Reply Quote
Hi Girls,

Just thought I'd start a new one to try and keep it all together.

Mavis and I are going to do a couple of routes for us to cycle Stratford weekend of Friday 1st August.

We'll be cycling on Saturday and Sunday.

Have provisionally booked the room at the Stratford youth hostel for Friday and Sat night.

So far takers are

Deena
Donna
Sarah M
Mavis
Sarah B
Jane
Sue N
Amanda
Von
Dorreen
Ellaine

They are going to hold the rest of the room until Thursday 19th June so if you want to book the number is 0870 770 6052 - quoting 'women 4 women' as the group booking name. Could you let me know if you are planning on coming please.

Oh and isn't it sunglasses weather at last...........

Hi Donna

Would love to join you on this one, but would only be able to do the Sunday, and I don't know if I would be able to drive there and back in one day AND cycle!! How many miles will you be doing? Where exactly is it??

I would love to arrange a cycle down this way somewhere, but I wouldn't know where to start!! Any tips?

Take care,

Nicky xx

Hi Nicky,

The route that we'll be taking is starting off most probably from the seven meadows car park in stratford on avon. will be trying for approx 30 miles maybe a little less, route not sorted yet. Setting off most probably about 10am.

Multimap reckons it would take you about 3hrs to get here! Would you be able to stay over on the sat night?

Tips: Do you mean a training one? go online and have a look at Sustrans for local cylce routes or the local council they usually have leaflets. You could post a suggested day on the one we usually use or set another posting up and see who takes you up, see if there are reasonably priced b&b's or a youth hostel near you. suggest where people could stay. All we have to do then is travel, you could always contact some of the ladies in your area who wouldn't have to stay over.

Hey Donna, Von, Doreen and myself plan to come and join you all. It will be good to get together.
We have bagged a bed with Mavis so wont need to bunk up at YH. However, I am sure we will join in with any late night activities. Unless we have a curfew that is.
SOOO looking forward which is more than I can say about this weekends Solent challenge. Still got that IOW panic feeling stemming from the Randonee.
X Elaine

Hi Ladies, looking forward to seeing you all for the August Stratford ride.

As I only live about half an hour's drive away from Stratford, I've decided to have a BBQ on the Friday night, at my house. You are all welcome, so please let me know if you can join us.

Please add your name to the list and let me know any dietry requirements, etc. The list so far is as follows:

Donna
Elaine
Von
Doreen

Aim to start at about 7.00 p.m.

Have a fab time to those of you doing the Solent ride.

Love Mavis
