03-16-2008, 11:40 nufcgirl Joined on 03-16-2008 Posts 2 The Adidas womes 5k challenge 2008 (london) hiya im doing the womens challenge on 7th september this year, and i am really looking forward to this. i am running on my own as i have no one else to run with who is female that it lol. i have been training for this for 3 months now, and now i am going to take to running outside to get used the different terrain. and as i live near hyde park where its taking place i will begin running there when the weather gets better. would be breat to speak to anyone else who going to be running the same race, i am also thinking of doing the hydro active but its just 10 days after my frist run, so i am thinking hard about it lol. well good luck to everyone who is running and hope your reach your sponsor targets.    Report

Well, I say run....me and several family members are participating but probably walking, as one of our party is in a wheelchair. We're raising money for Parkinsons Disease Society, as my nan had it for over 10 years before she passed away on New Year's Eve. anyone else doing anything for PDS?   x    Report

04-26-2008, 14:08 limo Joined on 04-26-2008 Posts 4 Re: The Adidas womes 5k challenge 2008 (london) Hi!!  I'm also doing the 5k London run.  Having done it last year, and having run the London Marathon for the past 2 years, I am hoping it won't be too difficult for me.  The real reason I am running it though, is to support my mum and my sister who will also be taking part, but unlike me don't normally run. Any money we raise will go towards the £4000 I need to take part in a project I will be doing at a school in South Africa in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK this November. I am running to raise money for my local midwifery led unit at Darent Valley Hospital. I didnt realise that the Hydroactive challenge was still going,(i was told the adidas womens challenge replaced it) i took part in it two years ago and got the bug for running. I'm brilliant at sprinting but found it hard to train to run! Anyway best of luck to all you guys doing it, for whatever charity your raising for, hope you all do well! I'm pretty sure the sponsors changed this year from Hyro Active to Adidas, so they are effectively the same thing rather than two separate races. I have only started running this year (since school 20 years+ ago). I have MS and am running in aid of the MS Society. Think you are v brave (an fit) to race again so soon but hope you do it too.
