Hi Jaeaves. Is Edinburgh your first marathon? I did it last year (it was my first marathon) and its brilliant - good course and great support!

Hi Jaeaves

Training is going fine actually.  Hope you're injury isn't too serious.  The Edinburgh course is a great route - apart from the odd "slight" incline its pretty flat all the way.  The only thing is the wind can be a bit blowy off the sea.  Anyway, hope you get better soon.

Hello again, i was able to run for a little while today reasonably pain free, but going to have to build it up slowly. Had a shin splints type injury, was very painfull.

Hopefully on the mend now tho, was a wek and a half of very sore pain and swelling.

Roll on the running now tho, lol
Cant wait to get back out there.
no pain, no gain!

Hi there plodding on, i am getting nervous too, carrying a foot injury that is stopping me from running as much as i would like too. Going to have to take a half week or week off training to try a last ditch attempt to get rid of the injury. How far have you ran so far in one go? what time?
no pain, no gain!

Hi jaeves, Sorry could'nt work out how to get back to this page. Hope I find the start line bit easier. Longest run 21.2 on Tuesday, 8 miles today and serious cramp in foot. Ice and rest for rest of day. One more serious week and then easing down for final two weeks.

Hi again, ive had nothing but problems, bad shin splints, injured my foot.......various injures, not been very lucky at all.

Just hopeing i can get a couple of big runs in before the big day.

Most ive ran is 14 miles, felt ok after that, but picked up various injuries since.

What time you hopeing for on the day then?

Ill just be looking to stay clear of injury and finish given the way training has gone upto now.

no pain, no gain!

Foot was a bit worse than I thought. Not been able to do so much this week, a physio colleague says it may be a ligament. Hope to do a 10 mile Friday and might risk a 20 on Sunday (last chance before tapering for last two weeks). Not fussed about a finish time would love to go under 4.5 hrs. But hey everyone who finishes a marathon is a hero in my book, gotta enjoy the day. Have you done this race before or any other marathon?
