Donna that's a fab bike ride but unfortunately I am in Prague that weekend. I will make sure that Carole has the details.

Deena/Mavis will look out for you at the MacRide although we are only doing the 25 mile route (after all we still have another year to train!) will wear W4W top. Ann x

Hi Deena,

Hoping to get to Stratford Park and Ride for just after 8.15, they've advised we park right at the end, so see you then.   I've printed off routes etc and done an extra copy for you.

Ann, look forward to seeing you - it's been ages.

Mavis xx

First of all - money is in! £250 short but it's been pledged just not paid and W4W are fine with that...I NEVER thought I'd raise that much money! But I did (with alot of help from friends and family) Now we can concentrate on riding and getting ready! Maybe the weather will play ball one day...Thank God for Spinning!

Mavis you mentioned W4W tee shirts - should we have received those by now? I know they wanted to get them out before the training weekend...next weekend!

Is anyone eles staying in the Youth Hostel? My husband is dropping me off there on Friday evening on his way to his parents' with the kids - so I will be stranded there. I can get a cab to the start of the ride (which is 7 miles away) - but if any of you guys were there with transport maybe I could cadge a lift?

But the main reason why it is a big day for me is that my little boy, Sam, started school today! I am so proud - he is so grown up and was such a little star...just about to go and pick him up!

Looking forward to meeting some of you next weekend....

phewwww! My sister in law have raised over 6k so we have both got our money in hoorah!
I don't come on here that often I'm afraid, but was wondering who was on the 2nd ride?

It's such a relief having the money in. I was getting really anxious. It's been such a lot of hard work for us all but I'm sure you agree...very rewarding when you get there.
Another question for you all though...we have actaully raised more than 6k and money keeps trickling in, especially on the web page. Do you think what we've raised above 6k could be put towards our taxes? It's just we both might struggle a bit...what with the hard times upon us and all that! x

Hey ladies,

that's great about reaching targets. Novia, I'm still booting to get the rest of the money for airport taxes, weather permitting!Congratulations for getting there, what a relief.

Sarah (sez) there are are quite a few of us staying at the hostel, our plan is to bike to the meeting point at Lower Quinton. Bit of a warm up! your quite welcome to join us, and before you panic, yes we do know the way and how long it'll take to get there.
How exciting about your son's first day at school. Did you get lots of photo's? It's my son's 19th birthday today. He nearly always went back to school on his birthday.

Mavis/Deena/Ann, I'm gutted that I'm missing this ride, could really do with it but not to worry. If I get out before anyone wakes up I should fit in about 10 miles on sunday. Thanks for the good wishes Mavis, peeked at your page. Well done xx

Donna, I was gonna hire a bike..so wouldn't be able to cycle down. I'll have to see if I can fit my bike into the car...along with 2 kids, hubby and all the kit they need for a weekend! I'll let you know!

Just got completely drenched and cut my ride short - only managed 3 miles, the heavens opened and cycled the 3 miles home in the pouring rain - I'm a weather forecaster and I couldn't miss the blooming rain! And tomorrow is going to be REALLY pants!!!

bike hire

Hi Sarah,

Suzi hired a bike last time we were down there and they delivered it to where she was staying, I'll text and ask for the name if you are interested.

There was hardly a break today in the rain so no cycling this end.... and won't even try to go out tomorrow then.

Hi

Congrats on raising the money. It is a great relief when your have reached the target. Any money that I collect from now on i.e carboots etc. I am putting towards the taxes. All the extras mount up and I don't want to have to find too much myself.

Hi Ladies,
Well done to you all on reaching targets. I think it certainly does make sense to continue raising funds to cover expenses, etc.

Sezmo, I had requested some T shirts to do my collection at work, but have had no response. I haven't received any for the training weekend either, perhaps they'll hand them out on the ride.

Donna, it's not going to be the same doing the Mac ride without you. I'm feeling so out of it at the moment, I hope I can keep up with Deena. The route is pretty much the same as the one we did on the Action Medical ride. Perhaps we could have another go at it before Cuba.

Sarah

Me and Lindsey are staying at the college arms, I'm hiring a bike, its being dropped off at Vicarage farm, I will come and pick you up on Saturday morning from the youth hostel, if I can remember the way, I'm sure between me and Linds we will find out, so dont worry about taking your own bike.

Phew, money paid in girls, does any one know if our airport taxes are going to come down now that fuel has?

We're cycling from the youth hostel?? O dear, someone (ie. me!!) didn't check the map !! Well, at least we won't need a warm up!! What time is everyone arriving at the hostel?? I think I'm training it but knowing me, I'll end up at the wrong hostel :)

Has anyone checked out the weather for next week?? Supposedly sunshine for Saturday and 70% of rain on Sunday!! Eeek!!

ok I am the weather forecaster so I'd better look what the weather might do .....
its a bit far ahead really but the 10 day forecast is for more wind and showers - no change there then! I will update you over the next few days but I should plan for wet and windy at times! What joy!

Am def bringing bike now as I have cancelled my hire bike! Thats an extra 14 miles then! Eeeek!

Sam........
Don't panic Mr Mannering.......... Its a very flat and pleasant 6ish miles (maybe a little more.....) to Lower Quinton.

I'm hoping to get to the hostel for around 6.30pm with Deena, what station will you be arriving at and what time? do you need picking up?

Tried to get a long range forecast, but a bit useless, Sarah (Sez) can you help out on this? Good to hear that you can get your bike in the back of the car.

Clare, I can't imagine that little dot of a daughter of yours starting school, bet you were in floods of tears!

Sarah(M) have you cancelled your disco? If so will you be able to make the first day of cycling? Not that we'll miss you of course!! Oh, and put £10.00 of tickets aside for me, I could do with an extra chance of winning a real DIAMOND necklace...... I'll donate on jg.

Is it still raining on everyone............
