Does any one know if I need a licence to do a fundraising pub crawl? I thought as long as you dont collect on the streets and ask permission from the landlords then you dont need a licence? Someone has told me otherwise though :( I'm worrying a bit I think!

I have found out for anyone else who wants to know. As long as you don't collect on the street and have permission from the landlords then you can collect in the pubs without a licence. I'll let you know how much money I raise from doing this as it's happening tommorow :)

Just to let every one know how it went. We raised £270! I bought 200 glow stick bracelets which we also gave away for a donation! All the pubs I asked (apart from one well known chain) were very welcoming! I suggest dressing up as outrageously as possible and draw loads of attention to yourselves!!

I am organising a pub crawl in Cheltenham, have 7 pubs involved giving a free drink to 20 people, I am charging £20 a ticket which included event t-shirt (have asked for top to be donated) None of the pubs have mentioned a licence or have expressed any concern about me collecting money etc!
