Hi all,
Just wanted to say hello. I am new to the Forum.
I have talked about doing the Race for Life for the past few years, but never got round to signing up. Not this year though!
Somehow this weekend I found lots of motivation and courage and have signed myself up for the Race for Life 5k race in Warrington in July.
I have never run before but have over the last few weeks been trying to improve my diet and fitness and so I thought what the heck in for a penny in for a pound as they say.
I am not sure I will be able to run the course but I will certainly try jogging it!
Good luck to everyone else
Jo

Hi, i'm Sharon and i did race yesterday for thee first time, i didn't quite realise how unfit i was, even though i did training before, I had to walk then run but i managed to get round in 44mins, but my daughter whho is 11 got round in 26mins and came 12th out of the 6000+ people. It was a great day and lovely atmosphere. Good luck with your race.

Hi Jo,
I too am a first timer and will be running the Race for Life in Leeds this Sunday - Aaagh!
My mum talked me into it about 3 weeks ago and is now starting to regret it as we are both really unfit!
We have started low-level training and are still walk/running but are really enjoying it and definitely getting fitter.
Although mum will insist on running in full make-up with her hands in her pockets much to my disgust!
Mum is really worried about completing the 5K but I have tried to explain to her that there will be no shame if we have to walk it (just plenty of ribbing later!)
There is an added stress as I have to sneak out of the house so my 2 year old doesn't
Anyway, good luck and I look forward to hearing your tales from the Warrington event.
