Hi Sharna,

I have been organising a raffle  for racefor life too and so far have had some good prizes donated through simply e-mailing local stores and T.V shows! On most on-line store sites you will find a contact us link at the bottom of the page simply click on it and e-mail a request for a donation to charity. So far I have had replies from Woolworths, Peacocks, Ipswich Town F.C , GMTV and Coronation street!, amongst others. Try local restaurants and pubs too as they may donate a free meal or drinks. I found it easier to include a postal address in the e-mail and then you may get a lovely surprise on your doorstep.  Good luck and remember if you don't ask you don't get!

Good luck with your race too -sue-x-

I'm intrigued - what did you get from Coronation Street?!

Also, could I be so cheeky as to ask who you you aimed for at GMTV?  I'm trying to get stuff at the moment but finding it a bit daunting trying to work out which person in the company I need to be pestering...

Hi Sue - I was really interested to read your posting. Well done for getting such a good response to your requests for donations. I am organising a sponsored ghost hunt at the Schooner Hotel, Alnmouth, in aid of the Grace House North East Children's Hospice appeal and I contacted local businesses to ask for raffle prizes for the event - I was extremely disappointed by the response.  Out of all the letters I sent (and I sent quite a few!) only 4 companies responded -  I wonder if companies are being inundated by requests for donations or they are simply just not interested??  It is a bit disheartening.  Jax
